In the Arms of Death

Anne Rivers is dying from an unknown, incurable illness. As the illness progresses, she trips down the stairs one day and finds herself- quite literally- in the arms of Death. Except, this boy isn't actually Death and his name sure isn't Death. Anne calls him Dave, as the Death God does not have a name. Dave has been sent to take her soul.

As he is fascinated by the love Anne feels for him, will Dave decide to post-pone her death? Will he let her live, and cure her illness? Or will he not be so kind as to give her even a day more to live?

(The idea for this story came to me while I was reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It's a great yet depressing book. You, the reader of this story, should go read The Book Thief, as well while you're at it.)
