Boarding school will never be boring

Joining the fun.

It seemed that us being apart for three weeks never happened. Cara and I screamed and hugged for two minutes straight, Luke wanted to kill us but still hugged me. Alex bumped fists with Luke, hugged both Cara and I, and then turned on the TV with Luke. Lily bounced in and hugged us, and shyly waved at Luke. Brandon hugged me, and then went to the boys. Kaylee and Darla arrive together and we all of us girls went up to my room to finish packing.

“El, You always wait till the last minute.” Darla scolded me before sitting on my window seat. Her bright blue eyes glittered with excitement, and she pushed her long brown waves out of her face. I grinned at her and picked up clothes.

I smiled and shrugged a shoulder as I folded a shirt.

“Yeah, we wear uniforms…” Kaylee added. Cara and I laughed and I nodded. Kaylee’s cheeks tinted with a red hue, but she smiled nonetheless. Her long blonde curly hair cascaded down her back; those curls were sometimes so untamable.

“I know, but I have to have my clothes with me.” I added looking at everyone.

“You never know when you’ll meet a boy.” Cara said winking. Her dark brown hair was long and straight today, her bangs were pushed back, and her short frame made her the shortest of the group.

“This is very true.” Lily said bouncing next to Darla. We all looked at her and watched her bounce for three minutes.

“Sorry I had some caffeine.” We all laughed and jumped when the door slammed open and the boys poked their heads in.

“Can we join?”

I pushed Darla into the pool, which in surprise grabbed Lily. I laughed when they resurfaced and they splashed me. I retreated back and jumped when two hands gripped my hips.
I turned my head and smiled at Brandon. “Bran, you scared me.” He grinned his famous grin, which made most girls melt.

“Sorry Elaina.” He was the only boy to call me by my full name, but I didn’t mind. When he said my name, it rolled off his tongue and sounded like perfection. “But I think you need to go into the water as well.”

I shook my head and gave him the puppy face. “No, please.” He grinned and picked me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck and gripped my hands together.

“If I go in, you are too.” He shrugged and before I could blink we were both in the water.
I resurfaced and laughed, dunked Brandon, and swam over to the girls.

“Brandon’s flirting with you,” Cara whispered.

“Only for the parents.” She rolled her eyes but dropped the subject anyway.

We settled last year we wouldn’t date. So why would he flirt with me?

“Mate, you’re going to show that you fancy her. Chill out.” Alex said hitting my head. I turned to him and shrugged.

“I can’t help it, it’s too easy.”

“Yeah but you said you wouldn’t date,” Luke added shooting and scoring in the floatable basketball net.

“Yeah, but flirting isn’t dating.”

“True, but if you don’t cut it out, it will lead to something bad.” I dunked under water to finish the conversation. I emerged and found Elaina and Cara near us. I grinned and swam over and splashed them, and that started a water fight to never forget.
