It's All We Know

Jessi’s POV

“You realise we have been talking for three and a half hours?” Faith asked me randomly.

“Really? It doesn’t feel like it,” I said with a laugh.

“Yeah, but now I am hungry,” she said looking about the room.

“I’ll call Jack and see where they are,” I said getting up to find my phone.

I was still looking for it when the door opened and Alex came in closely followed by Jack, Rian and Zack.

“Weird, I was just about to call you guys,” I said.

“Aw did you miss me Jess?” Alex said smiling, he turned to Faith and waved.

“Zack, Alex, this is Faith,” I said pointing to her. She sat up and smiled at them both.

“Ahh this is Faith…” Alex sat down beside her and gave her a hug.

“Erm nice to meet you too,” she said blushing.

“Are you two hungry?” Zack asked looking at me then at Faith.

“Yes, starving! Where are we going?” I asked.

“Jack saw a build your own pizza place and wants to go there,” Rian said.

“Jessi wait til you see this place, it has every topping you can ever think of and you can have as many as you like!” he said excitedly.

Faith and the guys chuckled at his excitement.

“Pizza it is then.” I announced.

We all made our way downstairs; Jack pushed his way to my side and took my hand. Rian and Faith walked ahead of us talking together, I couldn’t help but watch them, I felt like I was missing out on something, they kept laughing and joking with each other.

“You’re quiet,” Jack said squeezing my hand.

“Sorry, just thinking,” I looked up at him and smiled.

“About…” he nodded his head in front of us.

“No! Just about things in general,” I said quickly.

“Good to see Faith again?” He asked.

“Yeah it’s great, I actually wanted to ask you something,” I said.

“Yea- Oh this is it!” Jack jumped beside me when we reached the pizza place. He pulled us ahead of Faith and Rian to get a table. It was a weird place, and most of the tables were only for two, so we split off, Jack and I at one table, Faith and Rian at one behind us, and Alex and Zack across from them.

While we were looking at the menus I glanced up and noticed Rian standing up at his table, Faith was looking up at him shaking his head.

“What’s wrong?” I asked loudly. Jack turned round in his seat to look at them.

“We are gonna go grab a burger,” Rian said.

“What?” I asked.

“We don’t fancy pizza,” Rian said.

“Ah yes, I forgot you had a weird pizza aversion,” Jack said chuckling to himself.

“Yeah, so we’ll meet up with you guys later yeah?” Rian asked.

“We’ll come with you!” I said quickly starting to stand up.

“But I want pizza,” Jack said whipping round in his seat to pout at me.

I glanced at Rian and Faith then back at Jack who batted his eye lashes at me, how could I resist that look. I smiled at him and settled back down in my seat.

“Okay, see ya later,” Rian said, he held his hand out to Faith who took it, and they left the restaurant together. I watched them until I couldn’t see them anymore, it was weird but I really wish I could have went with them. I glanced across the table at Jack who was talking about pizza toppings, I sighed and looked down at the menu, suddenly I really wasn’t in the mood for pizza. Jack didn’t seem to notice my change in mood, he was talking away to me, I was listening to most of it, but after we ordered and our pizza came I focussed more on my food rather than to what Jack was saying.

“Jessi? Jessi? Jessi? Jessi? Jessi?” I looked up from my plate and smiled at Jack.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing, I’m just tired,” I replied.

“Shall we go back to the hotel?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I nodded.

Jack turned round to Alex and Zack and gave them some money for the bill.

“You guys aren’t coming out with us?” Alex asked pointing a bread stick he had been eating at us.

“Nah, Jess is tired,” Jack said.

“Aww but please just come for one drink then you can go?” Alex asked.

Jack turned to look at me, I hesitated, the last time we went out ended pretty badly. I looked at each of them in turn, did I really want another crazy night out with these guys?

“Faith and Rian are meeting us there,” Alex said trying to convince me.

“I’ll have to go back and get changed first…” I said, still unsure about the idea.

“Well we could go back for a bit then meet them?” Jack offered.

I smiled. “Yeah, okay.”

“So what did you want to ask me?” Jack asked when we left the restaurant.

“Oh, I was thinking of spending the day with Faith and Rian tomorrow, just kinda catch up on everything,” I said.

“Didn’t you do that today?” he asked.

“Sorta, but I want to make things right with Rian too, and I’ve really missed Faith,” I said.

“Do you mean I’m not invited?” he asked.

“Well…”

“Don’t you want me there too?” he asked. I glanced up at him as we walked, he didn’t look annoyed, more confused.

“I do! But it might be a bit awkward…” I said.

“Right, okay,” Jack sighed.

“I mean you can come if you want?” I said quickly.

“Nah it’s cool, you obviously don’t want me to go,” he said shrugging.

“It’s not that I don’t want you to come,” I urged.

“Really? Because it sounds like you don’t, but it’s really okay, you need some time with your friends, I don’t mind, but that’s all you needed to say,” he slowed down a bit and smiled at me. I stopped him and gave him a quick kiss as a thank you. But I couldn’t help but feel he was a little annoyed at me.
