God Knows I Need An Angel Like You

Wealthy.

We weren't so far from home from the movie store so we basically sprinted home, in the rain. I brought Shep back home and by now my mom's car was in the drive way so she was home and probably wondering where I had vanished off to.

"Hey mom, I'm home!" I took the time to yell out to her. I unclipped the dog and gave him his cookie for being such a good boy.

"Where have you been?" She asked, I sensed worry in her voice.

"Out for a walk with Shep and Tasha Rose." Yup, her last name was Rose. Jay Rose. Hmm, Keysia-Ann Rose sounds pretty, right?

"Oh, that's good." She was finally relived so now's the perfect time to ask her.

"Hey mom, do you think I could spend the night at Tasha's house?" I took her by surprise.

"Um, sure?" She was surprised of this because I hadn't gone to anybody else's house to sleep besides Christine's but that was because it was Christine.

"Thanks!" I kissed her cheek and ran out the door.

Tash's house was only two doors down from mine and it was a literally mansion. No one could miss it so I had no need for an umbrella or anything. I got there quickly and knocked on the big door twice. I was surprised when Jay answered the door with no shirt on. Wow. Yes, wow. Ugh, I'll probably only think about him now, what a way to ruin my night. Stupid Jay. Stupid me.

"Tasha's up in her room, first door to your right, you can't miss it." I nodded and headed up, he didn't even look at me well besides when he looked through the peep hole to see who was at the door. As I looked around it dawned on me, they were filthy rich!

"Sia!" I heard Tash yell and I silently laughed as she continued to yell out my name. I finally got up the stairs and she finally shut up. Thank you god! She was already sitting on her huge bed eating our popcorn, I sat next to her as she pressed play.

As predicted, I only thought about Jay whom was in the room next to ours. We had watched all six movies and now Tash was dead asleep on her bed. I sat on the floor being bored wondering what he was doing. Something inside me pushed me to get up and go see him. Oddly enough, I actually did. He was playing some game on his Xbox. He didn't see me enter his room and I was right behind him watching him play.

"What the f-" He said jumping, I laughed at his priceless expression, I smiled and waved at him.

"What the hell are you doing in my room? Weren't you and Tash watching movies or something?" He asked clearly wanting me out of his room.

"Yeah, we were but we finished them all and then she fell asleep. I have nothing to do and I'm bored." I said plopping down on the floor.

"Well, you can watch me play but I don't promise that it'll be fun for you. It's a game for big kids not babies." He said smirking. Wow, cocky jerk.

I watched him intently making sure I didn't make a sound. He was damn gorgeous, he had emerald green eyes that could kill with their beauty. He had a perfect nose and perfect lips that was home to a cute smile. He had black hair which puzzled me since his mom and sister both have blond hair, either he dyed it or his dad had black hair but either way it was sort of long but not shoulder length. He was in fact very tall, he was approximately 6'4. Funny how I was only 5'7. He threw his controller at the wall about fourteen times, yes, I counted. I noticed that when he was angry he would do that, I found it kind of cute.

"Ugh, I'm done with this stupid game!" He shouted and threw the controller at the wall, again. That makes fifteen. He looked down at me with a new face. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. He wasn't mad at me, he wasn't mocking me and he wasn't annoyed. I really didn't know.

"What?" Was all I could say. He was really staring at me now, my cheeks now felt hot.

"Nothing." He smirked. "Well it's 3:05 am, so I'm going to bed now, 'kay?" I nodded and got up and started walking towards the door.

"Good Night, Jay." He mumbled something that I didn't quite catch and I walked out of the room closing the door behind me. I walked back to Tash's room with a smile plastered on my face, I couldn't help it. I really couldn't, I mean I just spent the night with him, what more could I ask for?

The next morning Tash woke me up around ten and made me come downstairs for breakfast. Ugh, I'm not a breakfast person. If I had the choice to either eat breakfast or to eat supper, I'd chose supper. I hate the smell of eggs and beans. I hate crumbly or burnt toast. I hate soggy cereal or mushy oatmeal. I hate greasy or fried meats. To me it's all gross. Weird, right? I sat at the kitchen table next to Jay. Tash was preparing breakfast for all three of us, too bad for me that it smelt like eggs, bacon and burnt toast. Of course I was right she prepared scrambled eggs, greasy bacon and burnt toast. Everything I hated, oh well I had stay polite.

As I forced my food down Jay was looking at some magazine and on the cover just so happened to have the band Avenged Sevenfold on it. Avenged Sevenfold is one of my all time favorite bands so that sparked my attention.

"What are you reading?" I asked him casually, he peeked over his magazine to look at me.

"An article." He simply answered. Who knew that such a short answer could irritate me so?

"An article about what? Lipstick?" I innocently asked, he peeked over his magazine again just to roll his eyes.

"No, an article about a band, now shut up and eat." How dare he tell me to 'shut up and eat'!

"What band?" I asked just as innocently as before. Tasha was trying not to laugh at my dumb questions. He didn't answer me this time, he kept on reading his stupid article so I decided to bug him some more.

"Fall Out Boy?" No answer. "My Chemical Romance?" Still no answer. "Hannah Montana?" Still nothing, hmm I should bring out the big guns.

"Ooo I know it's about the Jonas Brothers!" He slammed the magazine down and gave me his famous exasperated look.

"Ugh, it's about Avenged Sevenfold, a band that you have no clue about so shut up already." He picked it back up and continued reading, I started laughing.

"Um Jay?" He put the magazine down, clearly irritated.

"What?" I pointed to myself, well not myself more like my hoodie, you know, the one I talked about earlier? Yeah well I was still wearing it. I wonder if he feels a little dumb now? Nah, it probably wasn't enough to even slightly scratch his massive ego.

"Oh, cool." He got quiet but resumed his reading soon after. Woo I finally beat him! Oh yeah man! I should so do a victory dance, but I won't just because I'm that nice.

I watched Tasha finish her breakfast and proceeded to pick up all of our plates, utensils, bowls and cups to wash them for their mom. I picked mine up, then pilled Tash's on top and as I went to get Jay's he decides to get up swiftly and bring his stuff to the sink. Honestly I think he was hoping that I'd drop everything on the floor, that bastard.

I began washing the utensils first, then the cups, then the bowls and then the plates. As I picked up the last plate, it slipped through my hands and fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. I slowly look down at the bloody mess on the floor. I felt the pain of having glass shards in my foot and leg. I couldn't help but cry, it hurt so much I couldn't move. Tash was getting ready to go shopping so she was taking a shower and Jay was no where in sight.

I screamed. What else could I do?

The first person I saw was Jay. He ran to get the vacuum cleaner to pick up the shards around me so I can move from my spot. Once the vacuum picked up all the shards around me he ran back upstairs to the second bathroom to get tweezers, plasters, peroxide, polysporin and his glasses. When he found everything he needed he ran right back down to help me to the red love seat in the living room, I guess if I bled on it it wouldn't really show or matter since it was already blood red. Putting on his glasses he began to take the shards out one by one, once everything was out of my leg he poured peroxide all over my legs. The white bubbles showed infection and that made me sort of scared. Once he dabbed all the bubbles off he took a bit of polysporin and put it on my cuts and then put band-aids over them. He had no idea how grateful I was right now. I was crying the whole time and he didn't even smirk once, how odd of him. Honestly I was embarrassed about crying right in front of him but could he really blame me? Of course not.

"There you go, all fixed up." He said getting up with a soft smile. I got up too, I had to admit that it still really hurt.

"Thanks for helping me Jay, I don't think anyone could have ever done a better job then you have." I said returning the smile.

"No problem." He said with a hint of pink in his cheeks, and with that he quickly turned on his heels and went upstairs to his room. I sighed and smiled to myself. I hadn't noticed Tash bouncing down the stairs yet.

"What happened to you!?" Tash shrieked once she saw my legs. I jumped slightly and turned around to face her.

"I dropped a plate and it shattered and pieces of it went into my legs." I said sitting back down on the red love seat now rubbing my legs.

"Oh my god, why didn't you scream for help!?" She asked as she sat down on the couch that was on my left.

"I did, Jay came running down the stairs with stuff to take the shards out so he did and I must say he did a marvelous job." I was curious about how he knew exactly what to get and to do.

"Oh, phew. Jay's good with this kind of stuff, he used to watch my dad work a lot when we were little." She said breathing out.

"You dad was a doctor?" I said questioningly looking at her she merely nodded as she got up to get this plaque hung up on the wall.

"He wasn't just a doctor, he was an amazing one." She said with pride showing me her father's award.

"Wow, so does Jay want to become a doctor too, or?" She shook her head no.

"He wanted to when we were little but then my dad died so that sort of crushed his dream.." She said quietly. After her quietness I stopped asking questions about him. Tash took a look at my legs again but she smiled this time.

"He did do a good job on patching you up." I looked at her and she was proud of her brother, honestly, so was I.

"Well, I guess now we can go to that store now?" I said changing the subject.

"Ooo yeah! C'mon go get dressed! Go, go!" As a click of a switch she was happy again, and now ushering me up the stairs so we could go.

Once I was in her room all I had to do was put back my black pants from yesterday. No, I wasn't in my underwear in front of her brother. I obviously borrowed some random pair of pj pants. So once I was done I found a hair brush on her dresser so I brushed my hair quickly and took out my M.A.C c-thru lip glass and put some on and went down the stairs as fast as I could. Tash was already tapping her foot and crossing her arms as if I took so long. Then it dawned on me, how were we going to get there?

"Uh Tash?" She looked at me with a set of different keys in her hand.

"Yeah?" She answered.

"Are we walking there or something?" She burst out laughing.

"Are you crazy?" I shook my head, I used to be though.

"I have my car so we're going to use it."

With that she started walking towards the garage entrance and opened the door. The garage was filled with expensive cars. We walked right past a emerald green sports car that I had assumed to be Jay's and continued walking towards a icy blue car. I should have known that hers would be this color since his was green like his eyes. We got in, got buckled and turned on the radio and left for Las Vegas. The city where all the nice stores were at, not to mention it's surname 'Sin City' and reputation.

As we got in the Fashion Show mall, she first brought me to a beautiful shoe store. Then a jewelry store and then a dress shop. I didn't understand why exactly she was bringing me to these exact stores. I just couldn't wrap my mind around it. Tash was the first to find herself a dress that she liked. It was a long low cut pale yellow silk Egyptian-like dress. The straps and bustline had beads and crystal-like gems on them. The back of the dress had some sort of veil of which was yellow but slightly transparent. It was simply breathtaking on her. I envied her and her beauty, I really did even if I was pretty attractive too.

While she chose that dress I was still looking around. I had seen a cute blue one and I had also seen a baby pink one but the one that caught my eye was the gold/yellow long silk one with the beaded criss-cross straps. I picked it up and went to the back to try it on and once I came out all eyes were on me and not on Tash. The dresses' bust part was pleated and shaped into a sideways eight. It bared my back completely but I didn't mind I looked amazing and everyone knew it.

"Wow Sia, you look absolutely gorgeous in this!" Tasha gushed as I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks.

"Well I guess we found our dresses, huh?" I turned away from the 360 degree mirror and looked at her confused.

"Tash I don't have the money to buy this dress, I'm not rich like you!" I said raising my arms in the air getting off the 360 degree mirror stand and heading towards the back to take off the dress and put it back where she had found it.

"Sia, don't you get it?" I looked at her confused as ever.

"I'm buying it for you, I'm buying it all. The shoes, the jewelry and this dress." I couldn't help but ask why she was doing this.

"Why exactly are you buying me these things?" I said cocking an eyebrow.

"For my birthday, it's a ball theme and a lot of people are going to be there. So I wanted us to be the best looking girls there, and obviously we will be." She said with one of her famous warm smiles.

She paid for both of our dresses and they weren't as pricey as I thought they would be so I guess that takes a bit of guilt off my chest. As we proceeded back into the shoe store she bought my pair of black patent stilettos and her pair of gold heels and we proceeded back to the jewelry store. I had gotten an emerald green bracelet and silver pendant earrings and she had gotten a cute gold bracelet with white diamond earrings.

"One day I'll pay everything back to her, one day I will." I quietly told myself trying to calm my guilt as we walked into a normal drugstore. She was looking for a new nail polish color that would go great with her new dress. She found one quickly. It was an orangey-red color that just popped out. She took my right hand and looked at it then dropped it. She looked around some more and then found a shimmery beige and put it in the basket along with some shampoo, a Dove soap bar and two boxes of band-aids.

On the ride back home I had just realized that we were a week away from her birthday which happened to fall on a Tuesday so she was celebrating it on the Friday which was the 18th so I had to come up with something by then. Today we were the 13th which happened to be a Sunday so she and Jay would have to go to school tomorrow which would mean that I would be alone for the whole day. Ugh, school ruins my plans.

It's not as long as I wanted it but hey, enjoy. It does get better, trust me.
