Poprocks and Coke: If I Can't Have Both, Which Do I Choose?

Surprises and Guilt

Image

You met up with Billie outside of Gilmans where he had wanted you to meet him for some reason.

He was better, obviously, and out of the hospital. However, he was still on his medication to take the pain away, but all-in-all, he was back to his usual Billie self.

"Why did you want me to meet you here?" you asked as you approached him closer and stopped in front of him.

He shrugged, "It's a surprise, and I needed to get out for a walk."

You lifted an eyebrow and said, "A surprise? What kind of surprise?"

He shrugged again, trying to play it simple, "Lets just say you'll be amazed."

You laughed a bit, "Will I now, Billie?" you paused as you looked at him, "Well, then, when will you show me this surprise?"

He smiled, "Now. We have to go over to my place."

You smiled, "A surprise at your house? Sounds very surprising. What is it; a game of Twister, a pizza dinner, will Tre and Mike do an exotic dance for us?" you laughed at the last part while doing some kind of dance move.

He stared at you for a second before saying, "Don't be a judge until you know what my surprise is for you."

You smiled more, "Okay, okay, I'll try to keep my mouth shut until we get there."

Billie grabbed your hand and led you up the road to his house. On the way there you couldn't help but wonder what Billie had in store for you up at his house. On the other hand, you were thinking about Tre; whether he was even in the house or not, or if he knew about this surprise, and if he did know about it, what would he think?

You stared at the small house when you walked up the driveway, and you quickly turned to Billie, "Is this gonna be romantic or lame?" you joked.

He let a tiny smirk spread across his lips, "I shouldn't have even told you that I have a surprise for you, you're horrible at guessing."

You gasped playfully at his words, "Obviously, Mr. Billie Joe Armstrong, you are a jerk-face!"

He laughed, "If I'm a jerk-face then you're a girlfriend of a jerk-face!"

You rolled your eyes, smile still spread on your face, "You're not very mature, Billie."

The both of you walked up the wooden, almost destroyed porch, and Billie went to unlock the door. You looked at him again, "Are Tre and Mike here?"

He nodded, "They said they'd stay out of the way, so it should be okay as long as they stick to their words."

You nodded slowly, thinking about how Tre was inside, expecting this surprise that Billie had for you to happen, "Sounds good."

He opened the door and you went walking through the empty, quiet, dark hallway. You couldn't help but first stop by at the living entrance to say hi to Mike who was in the living room, eyes attached to the television.

"Hey Mike," you smiled at him as you peaked your head into the room.

Billie caught up to you and stood beside you and he nodded at Mike quickly.

Mike smiled at you then grinned teasingly at Billie, "Hey there, Mr. Romance Man."

You smirked as you turned your head to Billie, "I guess it is romantic then, hmm?" you smirked at Billie.

Billie shook his head quickly with a guilty expression written all over his face, "There's nothing big going on."

Mike let out a chuckle, "So, I guess that set-up of romantic stuff set up in the backyard is just for a Green Day photo-shoot you were thinking of? Sorry, BJ, I don't think we're that kind of band."

Billie looked a little embarrassed from Mike's words. However, you kept your eyes glued on Billie while Mike was speaking; "The backyard?" you smiled.

Mike sighed amused and sunk more into the sofa, "Yep, the backyards set-up with a bunch of..."

"Shut up, Mike. Don't be a dick," Tre said gloomily as he entered the living room from the kitchen, drinking a glass of milk and his head almost directly looking at the ground.

"I'm not giving up just yet."

Your eyes immediately went off of Billie and glued themselves onto Tre. Your heart was in a panic and your stomach was in a flutter. The worst part was, you think Billie sensed how you looked at Tre was a bit more than a friendly look.

"Hey Tre," you said weakly as you watched him sit down in the chair opposite Mike.

He looked up at you and smiled, "Hey there, Nikki. How are you doing?" He kept the smile on his face but he sounded like he hurt inside as he looked from you to Billie a few times.

You nodded, "I'm fine. How's your arm?"

He looked down at his wounded arm and shrugged, "Nothing to worry about, it'll heal good," he paused when he looked back at you, "Some thing's heal, some thing's don't."

He's playing with your mind, don't look at him!

But he's so sweet and cute.

He warned you he wasn't going to give up just yet.

You nodded slowly as he kept his eyes attached to you. You wanted to look anywhere else in the room but you couldn't. His eyes were like a magnet to your eyes and you were the weaker magnet that couldn't destroy the force that kept you together.

Someone should talk, this is awkward.

Tre suddenly sighed and got up quickly and looked at his glass of milk, "I hope you all don't mind that I drank the last of it."

Everyone just stared at him awkwardly.

Tre bit his lip as you could tell he felt the stares, "I think I'll go to the store and get more later, because..." he paused and looked at everyone, "...yea..."

Gees, I feel horrible. you thought when you watched him walk out of the living room.

You looked over at Mike who had a questionable expression written all over his face when he looked at you.

God, he knows!

Billie sighed, "He's been so moody lately, it's ridiculous."

Mike shrugged, "His heads been somewhere else lately," he paused as he stared at you, "He'll get over it."

You bit your lip as you looked at the chair Tre had been sitting in; He'll get over it? Does that mean he'll get over me? What if I don't like that idea, but shouldn't I like it? Why do I have feelings for him? It shouldn't be like this.

Billie was the first to speak after a small silence again; "We have things to do," he smiled at you, and you took your eyes off Mike and looked at Billie.

You smiled weakly, "Yea, show me this surprise."
