Getting Warped

Happy The Hard Way

I said my goodbyes to the guys in The Maine and Alex Gaskarth. I looked over at Josh and he just smiled. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk.

“You going to my bus, aren’t you?” Josh asked.

“Yes. Do you not want me there?” I asked looking at him.

“I don’t care. I just don’t want to hear you and Dave in the bunks.” He said.

“Joshua Randall Withenshaw. How dare you think that.” I said.

“Its true, isn’t it.” He asked.

“Hell no. I’m not a slut.” I said. He just laughed.

“I’m kidding, Jazz.” He said. I rolled my eyes and climbed up the stairs to the bus.

“David Ryan. Your lover is here.” Josh said. Dave walked out of the back room and sat next to me.

“What’s up?” He asked. I looked at him and laughed.

“Take care of your business?” I asked. He blushed then nodded.

“That’s good.” I said. There was a knock on the bus door. Josh opened it and I saw Alex Lowe there.

“There you are. We’ve got soundcheck then we play at 5 o’clock.” Alex said. I stood up and looked at Dave.
“I’ll see you later.” I said. “Bye guys.”

“We’ll come see you perform.” Josh smiled. I laughed.

“What up, Detroit.” I shouted into the mic. Screams and shouting filled my ears.
“We’re going to slow this shiznit down and give respect to some hometown guys. Any of you know who Every Avenue is?” I asked. Screams.
“Hell yeah. That’s what I’m talking about.” Alex said. I walked over to piano and sat down.

“Here’s to Every Avenue. We love you guys. “ I said.
Tell me it's over
Tell me we finally made it through
The comfort in silence
Turns to panic once again

We're caught in a landslide
We're dirty, we're broken
Black and blue
The feeling is lost in every signal that we send

How could a love hurt this bad?
How could we lose all that we had?
Why do we follow through?
What keeps us hanging on?
We lived like a storm and let it ride
For all of the times we felt alive
But sometimes love just can't make you stay
When you're happy the hard way

Say what you can't say
Say it's the end, say anything
There's something to find
In all the places that you fear

Lost in a moment
When it's only me and you
There is no other place I'd rather be but here
And those are only times that make the world disappear

How could a love hurt this bad?
How could we lose all that we had?
Why do we follow through?
What keeps us hanging on?
We lived like a storm and let it ride
For all of the times we felt alive
But sometimes love just can't make you stay
When you're happy the hard way

Can't we see it's time to let go?
There's no saving this tomorrow
But it's just so hard to say goodbye

Tell me it's over
Tell me we finally made it through

How could a love hurt this bad?
How could we lose all that we had?
Why do we follow through?
What keeps us hanging on?
We lived like a storm and let it ride
For all of the times we felt alive
But sometimes love just can't make you stay
When you're happy the hard way, yeah
But sometimes love just can't make you stay
When you're happy the hard way
When you're happy the hard way
When you're happy the hard way

I think this was the best reaction I’ve ever heard. I looked over saw the guys standing on the side stage. I smiled then looked back at Harlow. She was just glaring at me. I just rolled my eyes and said my goodbyes to the crowd and walked off and was pulled into an Every Avenue hug.

“We love you, too.” Josh shouted. I just laughed. I saw Alex and Jack standing there. Jack and Harlow weren’t even around each other. Alex smirked then pretended to break a stick. I smiled. Soon someone blocked my view and I looked up and saw Dave standing there.

“Want to go get a few drinks?” He asked. I nodded.
“Let me go sign a few and then we can go.” I said. He grabbed my hand and we walked over to ScentedSignature.
