The house of Parker(Book 2)

The House of Parker(Prt.24)

I took in a deep breath as I let my curled hair fall down, past my shoulders. I slowly smoothed the fabric of my dress trying to calm my nerves. Tonight was so important to Parker; since his family was suppose to host this ball. He told me he was unsure if I would get to meet his parents or not, on the account that they will be so busy with everything and socializing, but still I was nervous. What if I did get to meet them? What would they think of me? Would they think I was good enough for their son? I hoped so. Parker would be here to get me soon; the ball was going to start.

I exhaled slowly and turned around to the full length mirror on my closet door. I couldn’t help but compare myself to Lynn. She looked so gorgeous in her dark purple old English styled dress. What if I chose the wrong color? Was gold appropriate for this type of occasion. I’m seriously stressing myself out right now.

From the corner of the mirror I saw Parker walk in, in his black and gold tux to match mine. I saw him flash me a smile as I turned around to look at him full on. He walked towards me and embraced me while saying “You look beautiful.”

I laughed half-heartedly while saying “So do you.”

He smiled flashing me his perfectly white teeth before handing me a golden mask I was suppose to put on to match his, this was a masquerade ball after all.

“Here let me help you,” He said gently taking my mask and slipping it onto my head. His hands lingered there brushing through my hair in a loving way. Then swiftly he retracted his hand and put on his own golden mask. I couldn’t help but smile at him. He looked extra good with his mask on. His hair was all ruffled in a sexy way from his mask and I could only see his bright green eyes shining through his mask, in a away he looked so mysterious.

Suddenly he took my chin in his hand and brought my face to his placing a sweet, gently kiss on my lips. Right when I was about to wrap my arms around him he pulled away sighing.

“We should probably go.” He said taking my hand and intertwining our fingers together. Suddenly my heart skipped a beat as I realized this was it, the moment I had been waiting and dreading for. It was the night of the ball and I had a feeling it was going to be epic.

Parker led me through a series of halls I had never wondered down before until he walked down a pair of old looking stairs and came to a halt at an ancient looking door.

“Okay,” He said taking in a breath.

“When we go in there are going to be swarms of vampires.” He said strained.

“Do you remember what I told you?” He questioned.

“Yes,” I sighed.

“Stay with Justin, Jake, and Lynn.” I repeated his exact words from this morning. Once we entered the ball he told me he would have to be with his parents socializing and making sure everything went smoothly and wouldn’t be able to be with me. I was kind of sad that I wouldn’t be able to stay with him, but was happy at the same time. This would give me more time to hang out with everyone.

“That’s my girl.” He grinned while kissing me on the cheek.

“So you say,” I mumbled sarcastically.

He only laughed at me before placing his hand on the door knob.

“Here we go.” He said while opening the door.

He opened the door and I saw a series of all different colored dresses and tuxes along with the people inside of them. I couldn’t see anyone’s face from there masks, but knew they must be beautiful if they were vampires. A band was playing some old mellow song I had never heard before as people were starting to dance. There were tables set up all along the room along with a bar that I’m guessing served more than beer.

“Alright try to be good,” Parker whispered in my ear before disappearing into the crowd.

I took a step forward and tried maneuvering between everyone. I felt so small compared to all the vampires here. There were so many people here it was hard to tell who was who, let alone try and spot Justin, Jake, or Lynn.

“Lily!” I heard my name being shouted. I looked above the crowd and saw a hand waving frantically I went towards it and saw a tall guy with a purple tie and purple mask and knew it must have been Justin.

“Justin!” I shouted above the music.

“You look great!” I cooed.

“Thanks, so do you.” He said while taking a sip of his drink.

I could smell the brandy and knew it wasn’t blood, and for that I was thankful.

“So where’s Lynn?” I questioned looking around.

“Right here!” I heard someone say from behind me.

I turned around and saw a giddy girl in a fancy purple dress. “Lynn!” I cheered happily.

“You look even more gorgeous then when I saw you this morning.” I said smiling up at her.

She smiled back before saying “Please you blow me out of the water.”

I could feel as my face got heated and looked away at all the people dancing with their partners. They all seemed to be doing the same dance. I watched as the guys were so good at twirling the girls and the girls were so good and spinning. I wished that I could dance like that. Don’t get me wrong those lessons with Jake really helped, but I would never be as graceful as them.

“Would you like to dance?” I heard a deep seductive voice say.

I turned around and smiled at him. I knew exactly who that was with his ocean blue eyes.

“For you, any day.” I said while grabbing Jakes hand and walking towards the dance floor.

At this moment I didn’t care that I would be the only one off beat or that I wouldn’t be as fast and graceful as the other people, because I knew that if I was with Jake it was okay to make a fool out of myself.

He grabbed my hand and placed the other on my right hip while leaning in close and whispering “You look lovely, Lily.”

I blushed at his comment while looking away and placing my hand on this shoulder. Once I got the rhythm of the song I stepped back on beat as Jake stepped forward. I slowly maneuvered around the room trying to remember the right steps and twirl when I was supposed to. At that moment I felt like I actually belonged; that even though I was 1 out 2 humans here I was still able to blend and fit in with these vampire perfectionists.

Once I began to get hot and the song winded down I let go of Jakes hand breathing out a sigh of relief that I wasn’t horrible.

“You were great Lily.” Jake said encouragingly.

I smiled up at him while saying “Thanks, you weren’t too bad yourself.”

“I’m going to get something to drink and sit down.” I told him while walking towards a table before I got anything to drink.

Once I found and empty table I sat there and breathed in deeply trying to catch my breath.

“You look thirsty.” I heard someone state while placing a cup down in front of me.

I looked up and saw a golden mask, one that belonged to Parker and smiled while saying “Thanks.”

He sat down next to me and took a sip of his own drink. Feeling incredibly tired and thirsty I took a big gulp of what looked to me like water. Once I drank it, I put it down and made a disgusted face.

“Ew what was that?” I questioned. It was too sour and nasty for my taste.

I began to feel dizzy and hot while sweating. I kept taking long periods to blink, wanting to just keep my eyes closed all together.

I slowly saw him grin evilly while whispering in my ear “It was water, laced with rohypnol.”

I shivered in fear; I knew that voice, all too well. I tried scooting my chair away and screaming for help, but it seemed no words could come out of my mouth. I was so weak and tired and I just wanted to enjoy the party. This has to be some nightmare I’m having right now.

This was not supposed to happen. I thought before I heard him say “Shhhhhh,” while placing his arms around me and lifting me up. That was the last thing I remember before having darkness engulf me.

there's only four or so chapters left and I believe only one of them is going to be in Lily's POV.

The next chapter is for sure going to be in Parkers POV

But as far as the stories concerned I still don't know what I'm going to do about it. For now I'm going to keep updating. I will probably finish it, but you never know. I may freak out and just delete it like i did on quizilla. it sucks too because I'm so close to the end, but we'll see.
