Let's Not Ask Why It's Not Right

I woke up the next morning to the sound of footsteps in the hall. I figured it was probably Nick (letting himself into my house at random times was a pretty typical thing for him to do), so I rolled out of bed and pulled open the door without bothering to get dressed.

It wasn't Nick.

"Kaitlin?" I said in surprise.

She jumped. "Tyson!" She took in my appearance - messy hair, bare chest, boxers - and her cheeks turned red. I felt myself blushing too. I grabbed a t-shirt off my bed and pulled it on.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"I left my iPod here when I put all my stuff in my room," she said, looking down at her feet. "I was just going to get it." She made a vague gesture to the room at the end of the hall where most of her stuff was. "Your dad gave me a key," she added, holding it up.

I nodded. "Alright." I hesitated, remembering my dad's request for me to be nice to her. "Do you wanna hang out today?"

She blushed again, shaking her head. "Uh... No thanks. Sorry." She hurried down the hall to her room.

I sighed. This was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
