She's a Bullet in Russian Roulette

The beginning

Aeron's P.O.V

"Spencer Haines."

"Here!"

"Austyn Winem-"

"Heeeere Mr. Grant!"

"Eerun?"

"Aeron! Like A-a-r-o-n, but with an e!"

"I'm sorry. Its still the first month. I'll have it by next week."

"Yeah, okay." I muttered under my breath.

"Annnd, a new addition to our class, Ian Sicks?"

"Sykes. Like, sigh, and then kss."

"Oh, alright. Sorry about that."

"No problem."

I gave the new kid, Ian a "He's a freaking moron" smirk and clucked my tongue. He grinned, showing me a nice set of incredibly white teeth. He seemed nice. Really quiet though, I hadn't heard him say more than ten words.

He was definetly cute. I liked his hair, but I had yet to see the color of his eyes. What I really liked was his t shirt. It had all sorts of crazy things all over it. Tied together with a pair of black jeans, and a set of dirty sneakers.

"Okay class. Today we're going to be working on the european cultures. So here are your worksheets." I groaned rather loudly, and recieved a menacing glare from the reject who couldn't figure out how to say my name yet. "Find a partner and get to work. Page 264."

I scanned the room quickly, not finding one person who looked interested in working with me. I glanced over at Ian again and he was still by himself. So, I went and plopped down in the desk next to him.

"Hi, I'm Aeron." I smiled.

"Ian."

I wrote out at the top of my paper: Eeun, "Is that how you spell that?" I grinned jokingly.

"No, like this." He said, picking up his own pencil and scrawling out: Ian.

"Oh I see. I was just making fun of.. Nevermind. Do you wanna get this started?"

"Sure." he said, flipping to page 264.

"Ohh, by the way, I really like your t shirt."

"Thanks, I made it myself.." He said, looking up at me, and pulling nervously at the hem of his t shirt.

His eyes. They were gorgeous green. I'm talking like leaves of rainforest plants, gorgeous green. Wow. They were amazing.

Ian’s P.O.V.

Oh god, I did not want to be here. I stuck out like a sore thumb, it was very clear that I didn’t really fit in with anyone here.

It was a small town, and I was just a big city kind of guy. I had no friends here, and I had no siblings, so I didn’t even have a safety net in case I didn’t make any friends by the time lunch came around so I wouldn’t have to eat alone.

I wished I were home with Kitty and Fizgig sleeping in my wonderfully dark room in the basement in my gloriously soft bed with my warm batman sheets. But sadly I was sitting in the middle of my new History class having some half-wit doing role call saying almost everyone’s names wrong. I couldn’t even fathom how this man made it to become a teacher.

“Eerun?” Mr Grant called

“Aeron! Like A-a-r-o-n, but with an e!” Aeron called out irritably.

“I’m sorry. It’s my first month. I’ll have it by next week” he said reassuringly.

I rolled my eyes, I had been here a day and I practically knew everyone in this one horse town, and he had been here a hell of a lot longer then I had and he still couldn’t get our names down.

“Yeah, okay” I heard Aeron mutter under her breath.

I couldn’t help but grin at that. She was cute. Not the usual kind of girl I went after, but there was something about her that I just found myself slightly attracted to. She had gorgeous blue eyes that reminded me of the sea, eyes were always a big thing for me I was a sucker for big blue eyes. And boy were these girls’ breath taking.

“annnd, a new addition to our class, Ian Sicks?”

Really? Sicks?

I sighed and corrected him, “Sykes. Like, sigh, and then kss.”

“Oh, alright. Sorry about that”

“Noo problem” I sighed nonchalantly.

I glanced over at Aeron, to see that she was looking at me. She gave me a ‘he’s-a-moron’ smirk and clicked her tongue. I couldn’t help but grin at her antics again, she was unbelievably cute. The way her choppy dark brown hair framed her face, and the way her straight bangs seemed to fall into her eyes and annoy her. Something that intrigued me about her was, she was the only other person in this school that I had seen so far that had a facial piercing. She had a Monroe on the left side of her upper lip, and she pulled it off well.

“okay class” Mr. Grant began, pulling me out of my thoughts, “today we’re going to be working on the European cultures. So here are your worksheets”

Aeron groaned quite loudly, making me smirk and Mr. Grant send her a death glare.

“Find a partner and get to work. Page 264” he finished.

Great partners. No one was going to work with me. This was just another way to make me feel alone. Everyone shifted around the room to sit with friends as I stared down at my work sheet. This was slightly embarrassing.

I heard the chair beside mine groan as it was scraped across the floor from under the desk. That made me feel really good. Now everyone else was assuming that no one was going to work with me so they were taking the chair! Just fabulous!

“Hi, I’m Aeron” Aeron smiled as she took the seat beside me.

Well that was pleasantly unexpected.

“Ian” I greeted with a slight nod.

She started to write on the top of her paper. I assumed she was trying to spell my name, but it was horribly wrong. Oh dear… not another one. The teacher was enough!

“Is that how you spell it?” she grinned

“No, like this” I said as I picked up my own pencil and wrote: Ian

“Oh I see. I was just making fun of… never mind. Do you wanna get this started?”

“Sure” I said as I flipped to page 264.

Man I feet like an idiot! She was making fun of Mr. grant! She probably thought I was slow or something! And I couldn’t figure out why what she thought of me mattered so much. I mean, I had never cared in all my 17 years about what someone thought of me. So why was I starting now?

I looked quietly at the page as I furiously fought the blush that was threatening to show up on my pale cheeks.

“Ohh, by the way, I really like your t-shirt”

I looked away from the book and up at her. Nervously pulling at the hem of my shirt, “thanks, I made it myself…”
