Falling Inside The Black

Olivia stared at the wall of the tiny, windowless room she had been locked in for who knows how long. She could still hear the screams through the walls, or maybe it was in her head.

“Why God, why me?” She whispered, not sure if anyone could hear her. Before this she had been a pretty strong Christian but what God would allow stuff like this happen. Not one that cared that’s for sure. It felt like her whole life was Falling Inside The Black. Olivia wondered if there was anyway to come out of it.

Her stomach growled, reminding her that she hadn’t eaten in hours, or drank anything for that matter. Then again she wasn’t sure if anything would stay in her stomach.

She had always been rather fascinated with the thought of vampires and a passage from the Bible floated in her mind,

Leviticus 17:10-14
“If any one of the house of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, No person among you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood. “Any one also of the people of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth. For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

She hadn’t quite been able to decipher what that meant but now she was quite sure what it had it was referring to.

Somehow, over the many centuries that they had existed they must have evolved into something more powerful… soulless. There was no way that Olivia could see that would allow for them to have one when it was blatantly so wrong.

Suddenly she heard the lock being opened on her door and her heart leaped and began racing with fear.

Next chapter in my story. I decided to give it an aspect of reality adding in passages from the Bible, it being one of the oldest books out there.
