With This Ink in Our Skin We've Sealed Our Fate

Four

Val turned the corner and saw me leaning against the wall and Syn smoking a cigarette in front of me. She looked at him, then at me.

"Okay, who kissed who?" she asked.

I opened my mouth to be cut off by Syn, "I kissed her."

Val sighed and shook her head, "You cheated?"

He sighed, "I'm sorry. We only kissed."

She smiled, "Michelle's been being a bitch for no reason towards Bree. I'm entirely on you guys' side."

I smiled, "Thanks."

"Anyway," she said, "Michelle's looking for you," she said, staring at Syn.

Syn nodded, dropped his cigarette, and put it out. He leaned over and kissed my cheek and whispered, "See you later."

He brushed past Val, and he kissed her forehead. She smiled and leaned on the wall next to me.

"You know they're going on tour," she said.

I sighed, "I knew they would. I just didn't know how soon."

"Hm, babe, you really shouldn't get involved with Syn right now."

I looked at her, "I know, but I've liked him for as long as I can remember."

She smiled, "How long?"

"When I was 5, I told my mom I was gonna marry him," I said, smiling.

She laughed, "Aww, did you really?"

I smiled, "Yeah. I used to follow him everywhere when he was over."

"What did he think?"

"He was always really nice, but my brother was an ass."

Val laughed, "Yeah, but he's my ass."

I laughed and saw Syn appear from behind the corner.

"You told your mom you were gonna marry me?" he asked, a cocky smile on his face.

I covered my face with my hands, "Oh my God!"

He laughed, "That's cute. When was that?"

"When I used to follow you and Matt around, and that one time that you promised to come get a cookie from me and my mom," I said, still covering my face.

Val laughed, "And Brian Haner Jr, did you go get a cookie?"

He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I buried my hand-covered face in his chest.

"Yes, I did."

"No you didn't!" I said, taking my hands away from my face.

He laughed, "I did so!"

I put my hands on my hips, "You did not."

He kissed my nose, "I did so."

I pouted and he kissed my bottom lip, "Babe, I did."

I sighed, "After I chased you down, bitch."

He bit my lip ring, "You have a dirty mouth."

Val giggled, "I'm gonna go keep my sister busy."

I smiled, "Thanks."

She walked away and Syn looked down at me.

"Hello gorgeous."

I blushed slightly and rested my head on his chest, wrapping my arms around his waist. He kissed my head and hugged me tighter. I smiled.

"I never thought we'd be like this," I said softly.

"I never did either," he whispered.

I looked up at him, "How long have you liked me?"

He kissed me softly, "A few years."

I smiled, "Why didn't you say anything?"

"Brian!!!"

We separated again, and he leaned against the wall, just like Val had done. We both pulled out cigarettes and lit them as Michelle walked around the back of the venue.

"Why are you back here alone with her?" she asked, shooting me a dirty look.

I rolled my eyes as Syn said, "I needed quiet, and Bree was back here."

She stood in front of him, draping her arms around his shoulders, "I thought we'd make up. I'm sorry, babe."

He smiled at her, "I'm sorry, too."

She pressed herself against him as he took a drag of his cigarette. I threw my cigarette on the ground and walked towards the back door. I opened the door and saw my brother talking to some guy who looked awfully familiar.

"Bree!" he called, waving me over.

This guy had dirty blonde hair down to his chin and a nice smile.

"Bree, this is Sean Stewart. Sean, this is my little sister, Bree."

I smiled and shook his hand, "You're Rod Stewart's son, right? I've seen your show, Sons of Hollywood."

He smiled, "Don't think that I'm such a jerk," he said.

I grinned, "And why shouldn't I?"

"How about I take you for coffee and I'll prove it to you?"

I looked up at Matt, who smiled at me. I grinned, "Sure."
