Falling in Love for the Night

When I woke up I was laying on Alex's chest. The Moon and stars were still twinkling up in
the sky. I looked up and kissed him on his collarbone.

"What are you thinking about?"

I was taken back, I didn't know he was awake. "Uh, tonight."

He pondered that while he kept his brown eyes on the sky.

"What about you? What are you thinking about?"

His index finger traced a line up and down my spine, leaving a trail of goosebumps.
"Same."

"Hm." I didn't know what would be a good response to that... "Its really cold."

"Oh, here." He took his shirt out from under his head and draped it over my back. "It doesn't
cover much, but its better than nothing."

"Thanks. How do I look? Fierce?" I said joking and striking a pose.

"Yes. That's exactly it."

There was so much tension in the air now that we had sobered up.

"You know the worlds going to hell? Like its that bad." I said this cause I knew he couldn't
resist a conversation like this.

"Dude it's going straight to hell." We talked, still tangled in each other. I fell back into a
dreamless sleep after a conversation and woke back up when the sun was rising.

"Shit!"

"huh?"

"If my parents figure out I'm gone,they'll kill me." I sat up straight and snagged my bra and
panties off the sand. Slipped into them then got on my hands and knees to crawl around and
collect the rest of my clothes.

"So, what, you're just gonna leave?"

"What am I supposed to do? I need a ride, can you give me a ride to South Broadway?

I'll get Jess to pick me up and drop me off at home."

"Yeah, sure. We can be there in a few minutes. Wouldn't it just be easier for me to drop
you at your house?"

"No. If I do get caught at least I'd be getting dropped off by a girl as opposed to Alex
Gaskarth, my parents' least favorite guy."

"Your parents don't like me?"

"Well, they kinda think you're trouble, but my parents are tight asses, remember?"

"Ah. Oh yeah. Well still..."

"Its not a big deal. I don't like my parents nor do I listen to what they say. You know that."

He shrugged his shoulders.

I picked up his shirt and jeans and threw them at him. "Here. Get dress, we gotta go." I
searched my pockets for my phone, pulled it out and typed in a number I had memorized.

"Jess?"

"Micaella? What time is it?"

"Six. Look I need you to come pick me up."

"Sure, where?"

"Corner of South Broadway."

"I'll be there soon."

"Sweet, thanks. Call me when you get there."

"Alright. Bye."

I slipped my phone into my back pocket of my jeans. I looked up as Alex slipped on his
shirt. "Ready?"

"Yep. Let's go."

We walked to his car (surprisingly it hadn't been towed.) and when we got in his phone
beeped.

"Damn."

"What?"

"10 missed calls and 12 texts."

"Wow, I didn't know you were so popular." I teased."Who are they from?"

"Brittney, Brittney, Brittney, Brittney, Brittney,.... all the calls are from Brittney."

"And the texts?" I said after trying to shallow the lump in my throat.

"Brittney and like two from Jack."

"Oh."

Brittney. I had forgotten about her. She always had to know everything what was going on
in every second of his life.

"Not a big deal. I'll call her later."

"What? She's your girlfriend. You should at least text her back." I told him against my will.

"Naw, she'll be okay."

I had to fight to keep a smile off my face. I was happy that he could he care less about her.

"Wanna get a good laugh?"

"Sure."

He punched a number into his phone and put it on speaker. Alright Alex, a feminine
voice said, don't answer your phone. Whatever. I'm over it. We're through. I'm
sick and tired of your games. Don't call me. Ever."

"Well, I guess that saves me a trip to her house."

"Are you okay?"

"What? Yeah, I'm fine."

"Cool. So since you're free you wanna hang out?"

"Uh, no thanks. I've got some stuff I gotta do."

I bit my lip, "Oh, alright..."

"We're here."

"Thanks for the ride... and last night." I said as I held onto the door handle.

"Oh. Ha yeah. No problem." He replied sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Bye." I said as I blew him a kiss. He blushed a little so I closed the door and went to stand
against a building.
