What do I want to know now? Why nobody told us our kid wouldn’t make it. Why did our kid have to be the one that didn’t make it?
“Now what?” Tom asked, I sighed and shook my head. “It could ‘ave ‘appened to anybody love. Yeh cant blame yourself.”
“I know Tom, I know.” I pursed my lips and turned my head to look at him. His body sprawled out on the couch with his hands behind his head, eyes shut and mouth slightly open. He was thinking. “Just everything we went through, all for nothing.”
“We ‘ave each other, tha’s all we need.” Tom’s words have never left my head.
