The Wakko Werewolves
Chapter 21
"So what do we do now?" Amy asked.
We sat at the table of a diner. I stared at the menu deciding between a triple patty burger or the Godzilla. I decided to find a cheaper sandwich since we had less than fifty dollars to work with.
"We have to burn down Wakko." Tyler said.
"Yeah, we know that much. As long as there's evil werewolves who are trying to kill us and take Cassandra, we'll never feel safe unless that place is gone for good. So that no one else will have to go through the same stuff we went through." Amy said.
"I wonder if the bacon burger comes with fries?" I asked.
"Are you even listening to us?" Beth asked.
"I can't think on an empty stomach." I said.
"I don't think the cocktails will be all that strong I mean that camp is big it's going to take more explosions." Tyler said.
I looked at a picture of the Forth of July special and then it hit me like a train.
"That's it!" I yelled.
"What, you found out what you wanted to order?" Amy asked sarcastically.
"No... well yeah, but what about fireworks?" I asked.
"For what, are you planning a party or something?" Beth asked.
"No fireworks they're filled with powders and when they get hot they..."
"Explode. of course you're a genius but where in the hell are we going to find fireworks in the middle of nowhere?" Tyler asked.
I settled back down into my seat.
"I don't know." I said.
"Hey Johnny did that shipment of fireworks come in yet. It should have been here yesterday?" the waitress asked.
"Yeah, it's going to be great!" Johnny said.
I looked at my friends and smiled.
"I wonder if this is ironic or coincidental?" Amy asked and smiled.
We skipped on dinner, which I was kind of bummed about and sneaked into the kitchen.
"Where do you think the fireworks are?" Amy asked.
"The possibly can't be hiding them in here. Let's try the broom closet." I whispered.
We sneaked under the counters as the workers were busy coming in and out of the kitchen. I checked to see if we were safe no one was inside. So I ran out and opened the broom closet's door. Inside I saw the box marked fireworks for Fourth of July.
"Bingo." I said.
"Hey what are you kids doing in here?" a woman asked.
"Get the box and run!" I said to Tyler.
He grabbed the box and ran out of the kitchen.
"Johnny stop them!" the woman yelled.
Tyler ran to the door just as Johnny ran from a table he was busting. I ran out in front of Johnny and growled. He fell onto his back and scuttled away from me. Amy and Beth followed Tyler out of the diner and into the parking lot. We hopped into the truck and Amy started it.
I opened up the box and pulled out the fireworks.
"They're small little crackers." I said holding up the long string of them.
"Yeah, but together they're the bomb." Tyler said and smiled.
