The Wakko Werewolves

Chapter 3

At exactly twelve a.m. myself and the three girls staying at my cabin had sneaked out leaving our pillows under our blankets just in case someone was planning on checking for us. We met behind cabin D and that's where Tyler and his two friends were.

"Hey." he whispered to me.

"Hi, this is Beth, Amy, and Jackie." I said to him.

"This is Steven and Kyle." he said to the boys behind and they waved back at us.

"Ready to go?" Tyler asked.

"Totally." another voice said and stepped forward.

It was Jessica we hadn't even told her which cabin we were going to. She must have saw us sneak away.

"And you are?" Kyle asked.

"I'm Jessica, my mom sponsors this camp if I can't go no one goes." she said loudly.

"Sshh." Tyler hushed her. "You can come if your quiet!" he whispered.

She smiled.

"Okay so where is the cabin?" she asked.

"It's an hour hike." Steven said stepping forward.

"When we get there, we'll be free to do what we want and eat what we want." Kyle whispered.

"Lets go then!" Amy said loudly.

We all turned towards her and hushed her.

About thirty minutes later we hiked through the woods with only three flash lights and the guidance of the boys ahead of us.

Jessica was having trouble since her wedges were getting stuck on roots.

"Are you sure we're going the right way?" she asked tugging at her wedge shoes.

"I know we are we've been going this way for the past ten years." Kyle whispered.

"How did you even find this place?" Amy asked.

"Well I found it when I was five accidentally. I got lost in the woods and stayed there. I later found my way back. There's a trail that will bring us back with the group of campers as they go hiking." Tyler said.

"Won't they miss us?" I asked him.

"No, we'll be back in our cabin before they'll even know we're missing." he said.

"Where does the snacks come from?" Amy asked.

"It's changed out by other campers. We leave a list and they get the snacks then we leave snacks after leaving." Kyle said.

"That's cool." Beth said.

"You and a few other kids know about this place?" Jessica asked.

"We would like to keep it that way too." Steven said in front of her.

"Don't worry I can keep a secret." she said.

I had a feeling that she wouldn't keep it very long. The time passed and soon the trail got easier and we got through the trees. I was glad not to have run into a spider web or get attacked by a rabid skunk.

"Here it is." Kyle said.

"It looks like all the other cabins." I whispered.

"Don't worry no ones around and this place is way better than the other cabins." Tyler said.

We walked up the cabin and Steven opened the door. We stepped in. Kyle turned on a light switch and the lights flashed on a couple times.

Tyler closed the door behind us. We looked around.

"This place is exactly like the other cabins!" Jessica said and crossed her arms.

"It's better because it's sounder and there's a basement." Kyle said.

"So where do you guys hide the snacks?" Amy asked rubbing her hands together.

"Here." Steven said and pulled a rug from a large area of broken floor boards. Kyle, Tyler, and Steven loosened the boards from their nails and laid them on the side inside was a crap load of snacks.

"Holy crap!" I cried.

"Yeah and all of this is for us. Help yourself. There's some cups, and plates in there as well." Kyle said taking a seat and grabbing a bag of chips.

"Sweet." Amy said sitting on the ground on her knees. We followed her lead and sat on the ground.

"This is so awesome." Jackie said pulling out a can of soda.

"And this is what makes this cabin the best." Tyler said popping a potato chip into his mouth.

Just then the lights flickered a couple times and we stopped and looked around. The lights did it again and finally went off.

"What happened?" Beth asked.

The boys turned on their flash lights.

"Stupid faulty wiring. Kyle is there fire wood?" Tyler asked.

Kyle pointed the flash light towards the fire wood holder.

"None dude." he said.

"Crap we need to go into the woods and get some." Tyler said.

"I'm not going!" Steve said.

"Well thanks for wussing out." Kyle said pointed the beam of light at the shameful boy shoving a cup cake in his mouth.

"I'll go." I said standing up.

"You sure, it's dark." Tyler said.

"It's okay, I don't mind." I lied.

"Cool then I'll stay with the girls." Steve said smoothly.

"Get a life." Jessica said.

"Really." Jackie said.

"Be careful." Beth said to me quietly as I walked to the door following Kyle and Tyler.

"I will." I said to her and closed the door behind me.

Kyle, Tyler, and I were walking around searching for sticks, twigs, bark, anything to start a fire. Kyle had the flash light in his mouth and bent down to pick up one last stick when his light went off.

"Crap!" he mumbled.

"Don't worry mines still work." Tyler said.

Then his went off.

"Just great." he said.

"Guys!" I called.

It suddenly got dark and I couldn't see a thing.

"It's okay we're just getting batteries for the lights." Tyler said.

"Use my the light in my video game." Kyle said.

"Where is it?" Tyler asked.

"In my back pocket." he said.

I looked around it felt weird to be in the woods at night and surrounded around large trees that looked like the claws and arms of monsters. Thats when I heard a loud blood curling howl. I shook dropping all my sticks.

"Guys what was that?" I asked them.

"Don't worry, it's probably just a coyote." Kyle said.

Tyler was fumbling with the flash light.

"Crap dropped the battery." he said and fell to the ground to search for it.

I looked around. I was becoming paranoid. I was hearing things that weren't there and seeing things that weren't there at least I hope I was.

"Hurry up with that light." I said.

"Yeah I want to hurry up and finish my Coke." Kyle said.

"I'm coming. Got it!" Tyler said and put the battery in.

He then turned on the light and flashed it at Kyle.

"See nothing to worry about." Tyler said.

That's when I heard a growl coming from behind me.

"Uh guys!" I cried and backed into Tyler.

He grabbed me with his hands.

"What?" he asked me as he picked up the sticks.

I saw a pair of red eyes.

"We should run." I whispered.

"Why?" Kyle asked.

Tyler stood up and pointed his flashlight at a large black furry object.

"Run!" he cried.

Kyle dropped the sticks and we started to run. The thing that was chasing us was hot on our trail. It was growling and snarling behind us and that was what pushed me to run a little faster.

"There's the cabin!" Tyler yelled.

Kyle hopped up the steps and towards the door and opened it for Tyler.

He ran in. I was just up the steps when something tripped me and I turned around and saw that the thing had caught my leg. I screamed.

"Help!" I cried as it's fangs bit into my leg.

"Cassandra!" Tyler yelled.

Kyle pulled him in.

"We can't save her!" he cried and slammed the door.
