Don't Blame Me for Being Me

Chapter 10
And let that we had before goes to hell! (Oh they love us, our American boys!)
Part 1
So as we thought guys needed warm clothes. Especially winter warm coats. And Dasha and me needed to refresh our wardrobe urgently…xD That’s why we spent that day shopping. Boys got their clothes almost straight away in the beginning. Then we started the attack on boutiques and trade centers. In an hour may be boys were already hung around by different packets with clothes, accessories and others. Spence by the way purchased very cool pants. Brendon and me chose some tees and buttoned shirts for him. But my dream of having a flannel shirt in my wardrobe didn’t come true – there was none of it. Ryan bought a jacket of dark grey color and belarusian clothes’ brand (reason to be proud of the homeland’s enterprises xD). Jon was seeking for a pair or two of good shoes and he found even three. When everybody was satisfied by own purchases, we rushed to the side of cosmetics. I wanted new perfumes enormously. Much and at once. Dasha wasn’t against keeping me a company. She forced Ryan and Spence smell and sniff almost all samples of perfumes she was choosing. Jon refused to do this flatly and was standing with all the shopping packages (we didn’t count how much there were). For some reason Brendon rejected to buy for me my lovely ‘Eclat D’Arpege’ of Lanvin. He said that it’s shit, it smells awful and like medicine (it’s false!) and he doesn’t want me to have such horrible scent. I said “Fuck you” and the Eclat was purchased me by Jon who didn’t care what scent I have. Dasha was rushing along the store with her fav Escada and Nina Ricci. As a result Ross bought for her 8-10 different bottles. Bren and me purchased Gucci II, Red Delicious of DKNY which Bren didn’t have any claims about, and Touch of Pink of Lacoste and man’s Black XS of Paco Rabanne. I’ll splash it on any man and I’ll grow to love him. I just think it’s the most incredible scent and perfume in the world. Spence was about to faint because of that quantity of scents he had to sniff. He was mumbling “I can’t. I simply can’t” almost constantly.
When I said briskly “Let’s go to choose lipsticks!” boys shaked their heads like idiots and muttered “no, no. we won’t”. But Dasha and me added “iron” proofs: “We have eyeshadows – we need lipstick to match them. And if we don’t go to the lipsticks we’ll go to the perfumes one more time” xD. So boys went faster than us, and Walker offered me 5 or 6 very good colors personally. Spence was approving of all of pink shades in any store. Dasha and me took into account all of their wishes and even requests, so we bought everything we were offered and we wanted. Ross said that there’s not enough all life to use that amount of cosmetic stuff we bought. I hung just another packet on his hand and said “I’ll try”. In order to spend less money boys were muttering that Dasha and me are beautiful without any lipsticks and eyeshadows.
Ross persuaded Dasha to stop, to slow down with stuffs which were already bought. Especially he clung to some blue eyeliner.
“Calm down. Stop whining. I want blue eyeliner – I’ll buy it. Let’s buy a black one for you if you envy, if it’s the reason of your naggy state”, Dasha said.
We all snickered. Then we spent some time choosing and buying cosmetic products for skin, for face and other parts of body xD. In general Dasha and me were satisfied by the shopping, the solvency of our men and their endurance xD.
We barely crept to the hotel. Boys threw all the packages and themselves on couches. Dasha and me locked in a bedroom sizing new clothes and showing them to boys then. As Dasha’s clothes had been bought by Ryan and mine had been brought to me my lovely boyfriend, they both actually said they were glad to spend money not in vain. Stuffs we acquired fit Dasha and me very good. Then we went down to a hotel restaurant to have a little dinner. That meal couldn’t be related to any categories – supper, lunch or dinner ‘cause of time we decided to eat xD. During the meal there was suggestion to go to the cinema. Be stuck hotel rooms with so much interesting things outside is shameful. Everybody agreed to the cinema idea. Boys put on their new clothes with the same joy as Dasha and me. So we all gathered and left the hotel again. The movie was “Sweeny Todd” with Johnny Depp. We were a little bit late and barely found a place for all of us to sit in a hall. We established well and began relaxing. The movie was at Russian but boys watched it before and could understand what was going on a screen. There is no language bar in art xD. Bren and me were throwing chips and popcorn at our friends and snickering sheepishly. Dudes were rude to us reacting on our moves. Though Brendon and me were ready to hear curses like “I’ll thrust these chips into your ass!” xD. And we heard it xD. As Jon was at my left side, he and me began to help actors with their speeches and dialogues by muttering and mumbling quietly on the background. We had our own little fun xD. We turned out very funny dialogues and others. Dasha and Ryan were very serious watching the film. Spence tried to meddle in their seriousness but he was sent off with hissing each time xD. The movie passed with a big speed for us and after going out from the hall we bought tickets to another one. Actually I forgot its title. It was something romantic. Brendon and me were turning and grinning to each other each 10 or 15 minutes xD. Dasha was talking quietly to Spence. He was glad to get her attention eventually xD. Ryan and Jon were asking sometimes for translation and I was explaining them some things. After falling out from the cinema we went to the hotel by subway. Ooh, it was cool, it was enormously funny. Especially when we understood we missed our stay xD. We returned two times! We barely forgot Jon who decided to have a little sleep. We remembered about him when we were standing on a platform. Thanks Lord there was not much of people going into and out, so we had time to take him.
Boys were far-sighted to order two hotel rooms for the whole our company. Jon, Ryan and Dasha stayed in a room we all had spent some time before. Brendon, Spence and me occupied another one. I dragged all my stuffs there and boys did the same with their ones. The room has two separated beds, so that night Brendon and me spent huddling to each other tightly.

The next day I suggested to have a little trip around Minsk and some historical places. The city has a plenty of them. So nobody was against and I called my ex-classmate Anya. She and her family had moved from the village about 8 years ago, but they have lived there each summer and any vacations, so Anya and me had spent much time together then. She lives and studies in Minsk in Belarusian State University. She’s gonna be a lawyer. So of course, she knows the city better than me. Plus I wanted to see her so much! After a little friendly conversation she agreed to show us the best places of Minsk.
So we visited old regions of the city with its ancient buildings. We were at Red Cathedral also known as Cathedral of Saint Helen and Simon. It had been founded in 1910 and named in honor of Helen and Simon – two deceased in their youth children of the main donator of money for building the cathedral. It had been damaged a little during The World War II, then been under reconstruction, of course. In 1996 cardinal Kazimir Sventak sanctified a bronze sculpture of archangel Mikhail which symbolize a victory of heaven forces over dark ones. Then we walked to an embankment of Minsk river called Svisloch. This street is called Nemiga due to the same name of an ancient river. We were just near it yesterday, preferring boutiques and stores to historical places, such as Troitskoe suburb. It has some buildings of ancient architecture. Troetskaya hill or then Troitskoe suburb had appeared as a settlement near Svisloch in 12 – 13 centuries and had been just suburb, out of Minsk borderline till 19 century. Many manufacturers had inhabited there with their families and established their productions. Now Troitskoe is place of rest for citizens. This district has a big amount of museums, cafes and stores. Buildings and inside yards revive an atmosphere of first half of 19 century. However, many of constructions have ground floors and basements being built much earlier. Ground floors of such houses had been trade and manufacture places before. Also there many wedding ceremonies are held. Well, then our company moved ahead to a small island on Svisloch river. There a monument to the soldiers who didn't return from Afghanistan is mounted. Our country along with other countries of ex-Soviet Union had sent many our men and boys (30 thousands, if to be exact) to Afghanistan in 1979 as there was a war. Here people honor those who perished. The main monument is called “To sons of Fatherland who died aboard” and had been opened in 1996. There’s a huge stone with bronze icon of God’s Mother and text which explains the theme of the memorial. The monument was made in a form of a temple inside of which there’re four altars with carved names of all 771 departed soldiers. Also there’re five bells – bells of Tribute. This island is called Island of Tears ‘cause of a sculpture of crying angel standing there. The Angel cries ‘cause it couldn’t do its mission – to save warriors from deaths. It stays here, at the island, closing its face with hands and showing by its entire look that there is nothing eternal on the earth. Just married couples leave padlocks with engraved inscriptions like “Peter + Anna = love forever” on iron parapets of a bridge to the Island. Our American guests were impressed by this small but significant place. There’s no sense to mention we were taking photos along the whole our walking.
I was catching myself on thoughts like that – it will be very strange to have in my photo album a pic of Brendon and me kissing with Minsk’s buildings and sites at a background xD. Unusual. I just still couldn’t believe in his presence in Minsk with me xD.
After walking we had a dinner in Gostiny Dvor Restaurant. It has many common and specific dishes and drinks of Belarusian cuisine. So boys tasted such drinks as Medovuha (vodka with honey and some fermentation xD) and Krambambulya (very complicated name xD). Then we all just chose beer as main drinks. Dasha, Anya and me ordered baked potatoes with meat miscellany. Boys were more free with it and following some of our advices ordered two different belarusian dishes each. Trying to taste the most, they were stealing food from plates of their friends xD. I even don’t wanna count how much money we left there for our “small and hearty” dinner. Boys didn’t let us see a check. Ryan just gave his plastic card to a waiter. I don’t like to be paid for, but to be honest and fair-minded, Brendon, Jon, Spence and Ryan ate much more than us, girls xD.
After getting out of the restaurant, Anya suggested to go to a skating-rink here, at Nemiga, to skate of course. But only Anya, Jon and me were skating while the rest of guys were trying to do it xD. Dasha refused to skate at all and sat on the edge of a fence which was around the rink and was laughing at clumsy boys’ efforts to stand straight, at least. Spence found his place near Dasha and was hanging there all the time (why does Ross do nothing with this? xD). Sometimes I walked towards Brendon or Ryan and pulled them to skate with me. But boys were laughing and begging me to stay them back. Spence was ready to be taught to skate but Dasha didn’t let him go from herself further than two metres. Then some children came to them and asked Spence to be his goalkeeper for a while (the children were playing ice hockey). Spence refused when Dasha translated their ask. Eventually I persuaded (almost forced) Brendon to have one circle around the rink. He was keeping on the fence and me fearing to fall down all the time. And he was falling, of course. Enough times that to feel cold from the ice xD. I’m sorry that I didn’t keep him enough strongly and I’m sorry I was laughing at him trying to get up but falling down again xD. Though…no, I’m not sorry for it xD. In that time Ross was trying to skate with Anya. She was twirling him the ways she wanted xD. They were about to have a dance program for the Winter Olympic Games. Ryan liked such spending time. He has grown to like skating, that ice and the fence Dasha was sitting and he was keeping on xD. Spence wanted to have such hot ice dances too, so he and me began to skate pushing some children and other little things by Spence himself xD. The crowd was making way for us because he was waving his hands like a windmill xD.
Jon excluded himself from a common merriment and entertained himself xD. He was playing ice hockey with children. So everything was enormously funny! Especially for Dasha. ‘Cause watching from a side, such “action” we created could impress much xD.
