How to Save a Life

one/one.

Sometimes it seems like the easiest thing to do; Tom would be out of pain and everyone would be out of his way. He feels like a naïve teenager when he has those stupid thoughts, because offing himself could never be the answer to his problems. It would just cause more, and he isn’t selfish enough to leave behind everyone that loves him; that he loves.

Rhys knows what Tom feels. Rhys isn’t particularly observant, so it’s quite the feat. Or, more to do with skilled snooping when he got worried for Tom. He had pulled out a notebook from under Tom’s mattress and read and read and read, and the very last line on one of the more recent entries hit Rhys like a tidal wave. ’I want someone to save me. Love me.’

And Rhys doesn’t love Tom, not like that, not like Tom wants; Tom writes of his dreams of Rhys and Rhys knows how to fix it. He pretends. He pretends for his best friends’ sake. And he feels trapped, but Tom feels free and that’s the most important thing.

I'm not sure if this one even made sense.
But, the rules of the game said I can't go back and re-word things or anything like that.
