A Dad's Struggle

Gerard sat around.

Why? Why did he come? He had nothing to do wiith it! Ah, and after all of these friggin years, he decides to come BACK?! I don't want him with me. I don't want him near me, at all. So much happened.... Gerard panicked in his mind. His heart monitor was racing franticly. He was getting hot from all the panicking. He felt dizzy. Suddenly he felt a hand on his cheek.

"Don't overwork yourself, Gee," A voice said. Gerard jumped, he thought it was Bert again. "Hun, what's wrong?"

He looked up.

"Lyn?" He whispered.

"Are you OK?" She whispered, pushing away his sweat matted hair.

"He...he came..." Gerard shuddered.

"House?"

'No...no. Him," He stammered.

"Who's 'him'?"

"B..Bert McCracken..." He said.

"Oh, hunny. Is that's why you're so jumpy?" She whispered.

Gerard nodded.

She sat in a chair at the side of the bed, and had a hand in Gerard's.

Gerard started crying.

'I....I hate it here! I don't want to be here longer! What if HE comes BACK?!"

"Why?"

"So...so many drugs...' He whispered.

"Back in 2004?"

Gerard nodded.

Lindsey held his hand until he fell asleep on the bed.

"I'll protect you....I promise..."
