Written for vampiress632's Repetition contest, using the word "basket" every 20 words (exactly, in my case!)
Jack Wyelser was the village blacksmith. When the soldiers came, he made tools - weapons, for the residents to defend themselves. For this, he was sentenced to death.
It is tradition in the area for a man on death row to recieve a Last Meal of their favourite food, delivered by a close friend or family member. Mia, his young daughter, ventures through the forest to the prision, smuggling equiptment to aid his escape.
He had given the villagers means to protect themselves, now Mia was giving him means to save himself.
