There's a New Vampire King. I Am So Screwed.
Chapter 8
~Allissa's POV~
Fifteen vampires. How were we supposed to get away from fifteen vampires? I mean, they couldn't kill Tyler and Tyler couldn't kill them. But me? yeah. they could all kill me without having to wory about breking the unforgivable law. If I struggled to much for them to bring me in alive, they could certainly bring me in dead.
Luckily for me, they wanted me alive. Apparently, the reward for bringing me alive was three times the reward for bringing me in dead. I pretty much had no hope of not being brought in at all. Maybe, if Tyler was a really good fighter, and I was a hell of a lot better than I had been last time I had to fight, we could actually beat them and get away to... wherever we went. Certainly not France now, they had heard us talking about it. I could only hope to be able to kill some of them before they got to me completely.
Strategies were running through my mind at impossibe speeds as one of the vampires leaned on the very tree I had been leaning on a few minutes ago, smiling. "Get her, boys." I snarled and leaned down into the ground, exploding into wolf form and tackling one of them to the ground as Tyler did the same to another one. I clawed the vampire's face off and he was almost dead when three of them pried me off of him. I growled and bared my teeth at them before tackling one of them, biting into his neck and leaving him to die.
Werewolf venom is poisonous to vampires, and vise versa. All I had to do was bite them and leave them for dead. maybe I could actually do this.
I killed almost all of them before two of them grabbed me and put their fangs hovering over my neck. I froze, like they wanted me to, and they smirking against my skin as I morphed back into a human and gave up, slumping onto the floor. They let go of me and I glared at the ground. "Your brother has expressed a very keen interest on seeing you too, black prince." That was the nickname Tyler had received for betraying the vampires to consort with werewolves. The black prince. Black with treachory. "We'll bring you too."
I looked over at Tyler and a tear escaped my eye. He was bleeding profusely and breathing heavily. I knew he would live, but seeing him like this killed me. I glared at the ground again before raising my head defiantly towards the leader. The only one not weakened from a fight. He had complete control over the situation. The other two vampires were in a state almost as bad as Tyler, and I was overpowered, and I knew that. But somehow, i found the courage to be defiant. "Let him go. There's no reward for bringing him in. Only for me." The leader rose his eyebrows in amusement and let a chuckle escape his lips.
"Brave words for a prisoner."
"After a while of having to earn respect because you're a queen, you learn to hide your fear pretty well." He inclined his head in respect when I said queen, as if suddenly remembering that's what I was. I may have become a prisoner, but I was still a queen and I still wanted respect. It seemed I had achieved that goal.
"Very well, your majesty. we'll let him go. But in return we don't want to have to tie you up. You're going to follow us and if you try to escape, we'll kill you without any hesitation, got it?" I glared at him and nodded, pulling myself off the ground. my wounds were already healing, as were everybody else's, so I only winced slightly. If I was human, I would have been howling in pain right now.
"Don't do this! Don't give yourself to them like this!"
"Tyler, I killed twelve of his men. I fought as hard as I could." i kissed his cheek and followed sullenly behind the vampires. three left out of the fifteen that had originally faced me. I had killed twelve of them before going down. That was good enough for me.
We soon arrived at a room that I had come to recognize, because it seemed to be all I saw twenty years ago. the familiar crescent moon was etched in the floor and soon it started to glow blue. The smoke appeared, no longer making me dizzy because I was no longer human, and then the vampire king appeared. Darren.
He smiled. "You three will be greatly rewarded. See my ambassador for the area and tell him I sent you to him. Here is a note to give to him, so he knows it is real." They took the note and ran off. I was now alone with Darren. Great. he smiled and chuckled slightly before raising his finger, beckoning me forward. "Come here." I was in no position to argue. I inched closer slowly, but no matter how close I came, he still wanted me closer, until I was only an inch away.
I squeaked slightly as he pulled me right against him. He grinned. "Finally. I only hope I'm right." My eyebrows pulled together in confusion. Right about what? I didn't get a chance to answer as suddenly, my body left the ground unnaturally. I looked around and noticed the smoke had filled the room again, but the room was quickly fading. or, more accurately, we were. "Hold on tight, or you'll disappear into oblivion forever." I squeaked and clung to him desperately as his grip on my waist loosened.
My head was spinning. Colors were swirling around my head and then suddenly dissolving before appearing again, closer than they were before. It was so confusing, and through all of the dizziness i found my grip on Darren loosening. I quikly caught myself and tightened my grip on him until it was practically a death grip. Darren smirked. "I knew you'd cling to me someday." i wanted to smack him, but if I did I'd let go. I just growled instead.
And then, suddenly, everything solidified. we were in the heart of the vampire palace. we had teleported there through the teleportation symbol etched in the ground. it wasn't natural for more than one person to teleport at once. Everyone knew that. My head spun violently before my stomach emptied its contents on the floor. "It's alright. You'll be ok." I sighed before my vision got cloudy and I fell towards the ground. before it made impact though, I felt someone gently catch me and carry me off. That was all I remembered before everything went completely black.
~Luke's POV~
I sighed as I felt my surroundings fade. one thing i hated about being king was doing the mating ceremony. I didn't usually have to deal with it, because most werewolves already had their mates and it didn't usually happen.
But when everything solodified, it was not the scene i was expecting. instead of a girl and boy, looking nervous yet excited, there was tyler and a random werewolf he had clearly draged over here to call me. Tyler's shirt was stained with blood and his eyes were panicked. "What's rong? What happened?"
"It's Allissa. They... they took her. Darren has her. She's gone." it was funny how two simple words could send my life spiraling into chaos.
i growled and punched a hole in the wall. I grabbed Tyler by the collar of his shirt and dragged him to the middle of the room. "You're coming with me." he nodded and grabbed my arm as tight as he could, knowing if he didn't he would sink into oblivion forever. It wasn't long before we had arrived back a the palace. tyler vomited, but otherwise was ok. Impressive, actually. "Now you're going to answer me two questions, neither of which you've expressed any desire to tell me about, but you're going to tell me anyways."
I suppose the tone of my voice was scarier than I thought because he nodded without a second thought. Strange, for Tyler. "Alright. two questions. What the hell happened. And why does Darren want Allissa alive?" Tyler's eyes clouded over with grief and anger and pity. It was at that moment that I realized i didn't want to hear the answer to either of those questions.
but I was going to hear them anyways.
