Our Truth

Gorgeous Neighbor.

Soon as we were settled into our apartment, Georgie started to spring clean it as I went to the store and bought some groceries. I bought three bag fulls which weren't easy to carry since they were in brown paper bags and not in plastic carriers with handles like they had back home. I was on my way into the apartment building when I suddenly tripped and dropped one of the bags. Sighing heavily, I crouched down and placed the other two brown bags beside as I started to pick up a third of my shopping off of the floor.

"You alright?" A voice asked behind me. "Let me help you."

Looking to the side of me, my breath soon caught in my throat. A pair of dark brown eyes smiled at me. The man looked to be in his early twenties. His head adorned a baseball cap and he wore an LA Pride shirt showing the ink that decorated his skin. He was over all gorgeous. I had to blink rapidly to get me out of my gawking gaze. I seriously hoped he didn't notice and I just smiled.

"Thank you." I never thought my voice could be any quieter.

Putting the last of my shopping in the bag, I was going to pick it up before he did. "I'm Jorel, by the way."

"I'm Sarah," I spoke, picking up my other two bags. I went to get the one off of Jorel, but he moved it back. "You don't have to carry it for me."

"Hey, I'm not slipping on some grapes on the stairs if you drop this bag again," he mused with a wide grin on his face that showed off his pearly whites.

I chuckled nervously, embarrassed, my cheeks started to blush a nice shade of pink. Jorel laughed lightly walking past me as he took lead to the stairs. I followed up after him, all was quiet between us until we reached my apartment door. I found it weird how he knew which apartment I lived in since I never told him. Unlocking the door, I opened it so it was a-jar. Turning to face Jorel, I smiled and took the bag out of his had.

"Thanks," I said, pushing the door more open.

"Don't mention it." He shrugged and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "If you need anything, at all, I'm just across from you."

Jorel smiled, then turned his back to me. I walked into my apartment I shared with my sister and placed the bags on the small table where we kept keys, magazines and letters. I turned to shut the door, but as I did, I saw a glimpse of Jorel as he was about to shut his door. I smiled politely and got a simple nod of the head from Jorel in reply, along with a wink. He shut his door after wards and I couldn't help but let a grin spread across my face as I slowly shut mine.

Picking up the three paper brown bags full of food, I carried them to the kitchen and placed them on the small island counter and began to put the stuff away. Jorel's face was still stuck in my head and I felt like I was in that gawking gaze again. Music played in the living room from the radio and I found myself swaying my hips as I unpacked the shopping.

"What are you so happy about?"

I jumped back towards the counter, startled. My left hand gripped it tightly as my right hand clung to my chest, over the heart. "Fuck, Georgie." I cursed. "You scared me half to death."

Georgie chuckled to herself, then shrugged it off. "Come on, whats got you smiling like a mad man?"

"Oh, nothing," I said, walking back to the island and quickly turning to face my sister once again. "Except that I've just met our neighbor and he is fucking gorgeous!"

"Really? How old is he?"

"Yes, really." I tell her, biting my bottom lip. "And I think he's in his early twenties, just like Audrey said. Honestly, Georgie, you should see him and he's covered in ink."

"Oh," Georgie sighed, dazed. "Sounds like my type of man."

"Ha, back off sister." I said. "I saw him first."

Georgie simply rolled her eyes, then walked back into the living room. I finished unpacking the shopping then I went and joined my sister in the living room. Just as I was about to go sit down, a knock was heard at the door. Georgie and I looked at one another confused, but I got up and walked towards the door. Opening the door, Jorel was revealed behind it.

"Hey Jorel," I smiled.

My sister must have heard me say his name because she was by my side in a matter of seconds. "Sarah, who's at the door?" She asked all innocently, then laid her eyes on Jorel. "Oh, hello."

"Hi," Jorel said awkwardly. "I'm Jorel."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Georgie."

I rolled my eyes at her, watching her was pretty much comical. "Anyway," I said, butting in. "How can I help you?"

Jorel looked back at me almost instantly and smiled, he still looked baffled that me and my sister were exactly identical. "Yeah, um...I'm having a house party tonight and I was wondering if you both would like to come? See it as me saying, welcome to Hollywood."

"Um...yeah, sure." I said, looking over at my sister who seemed to be getting giddy.

"Great, well...the party starts at eight, so I'll see you later."

"Later," Georgie smiled.

Jorel looked back at me and smiled. Giving him a little wave, I then shut the door. Georgie and I raced into the living room and dove onto the couch. Holding each others hands, we bounced up and down as we let out high pitched squeals of excitement. After a fifteen minute giddy fit, Georgie and I then collapsed onto the couch exhausted. We smiled helplessly as we tried to regulate our breathing, but as we sat there, we must have thought of the same thing. What am I going to wear?

Jumping up from the couch, I ran round it and went straight to my bedroom. Opening my closet door, I pulled out every single out fit that look party worthy and did the sames with the clothes in my drawers. It was so hard because I had way too many clothes and it didn't help that I had shoe's that hardly matched any of the outfits. I really do need to go shoe shopping.
