Tales From Another Broken Home

“GERARD! GERARD WHERE ARE YOU?!” I screamed sobbing.

This can’t be happening it can’t be!

Suddenly my eyes snapped open and Gerard’s concerned face was directly above mine, his body leaning over me.

I lunged at him wrapping my arms around his neck and breaking down into his bare shoulder.

“I’m here babe, I’m here, it was all just a dream, it was just a bad dream,” he soothed rubbing in a circular motion at the small of my back.

“I was so s-scare Gee, I d-dreamt that you h-had left me b-because I was sick a-again,” I spluttered out tightening my grip on him.

He looked shocked for a moment before pulling me into him and hugging me close to his chest.

“I won’t leave you Charlie, ever, I promise, no matter how many times you get sick, I could never leave you,” he whispered in my ear.

I sighed, breathing in deeply, taking in Gerard’s scent as I did so.

I can’t believe I freaked out like that over a dream.

And Gerard hasn’t said anything about last night yet. Maybe he doesn’t care; maybe he really doesn’t care how sick I get.

“Come on Charlie, lets go back to sleep, the kids will be getting us up to open their presents soon,” he smiled warmly at me “Well, that is if Frankie doesn’t get us up before hand!” he added giggling.

I laughed to before laying my head on Gerard’s chest and resting my now heavy eyes.

It seems like something’s going right at last, me and Gerard, maybe we really can pull through all this.
