It's Not A Love Song

Aphrodisiac

In one night I had realised my current crush on Joe and on that same night I had to sleep in the same confines as him. Our hotel suite. Joe let us both in and we wandered our separate ways and into our bedrooms.

I sighed and fell face first onto the bed, smiling as I realised the bed was a memory foam kind of mattress. The sheets smelled of fresh air and lilies, I kept moving my arms around on the cover to release the smell. I could hear Joe walk into my room and the watched him as he fell forward onto the bed space beside me.

The first thing that I noticed was he had no top on and swimming shorts, “Coming in that lovely Jacuzzi?”

I nodded and rolled off the bed then onto my feet, I kicked off my heels and unzipped the back of my dress. I went to take it off then remembered Joe was sitting on my bed.

“Carry on.” He said putting his hands behind his head. “I’ve seen you naked before.”

“Yeah, thanks for walking in on me while I was in the shower by the way.” I glared.

He laughed, “Just get changed.”

I slipped the black dress of and wandered over to my suitcase in my underwear, feeling Joe’s eyes on me all the time. I grabbed my black bikini and took off my bra, making sure he couldn’t see anything, then replaced it with the bikini top. No way in hell was I changing my underwear in front of him.

I spun around and glared at him, he sighed and grabbed a pillow to place over his face. “Proceed.” I heard him say under the muffling cushion.

I speedily changed out of my underwear and into my bikini bottoms then tip toed out of the room, leaving him on the bed with a pillow over his face. I couldn’t help but chuckle as I lowered my self (and a bowl of strawberries) into the Jacuzzi. I noticed a tray with a lilo like attachment on the bottom, then realised it was so it could float.

Picking up the tray I balanced my bowl on it then placed in the water, laughing as it floated around the bubbling Jacuzzi.

“Ahem.” Joe cleared his throat from the doorway. He leaned against it, arms crossed over his chest and one leg crossed over the other propped up by his toe. “You could have told me you were done.”

I shrugged cockily, grabbing a strawberry and biting off the end then tossing the left over green leaves onto the balcony floor. Joe shook his head and then sauntered over to me and into the hot tub. I smiled and pushed the tray of strawberries towards him once he had seated himself opposite me.

I rested my feet on his thighs with a smile which he returned. Joe laid his arms on the edge of the Jacuzzi extenuating his muscles then let his head drop backwards as he relaxed.

“Your bruises are going purple.” Joe observed, throwing me a strawberry.

I caught it and threw it back to him. He caught it and ate it with a frown. “Did you know strawberries are an aphrodisiac?” I smirked, picking a larger one up and taking a bite.

“Yes, I did know that, along with every other human on the planet.” Joe teased, tossing the remains of his strawberry at me.

I chuckled, “So, when’s my best friend joining us again?” I asked sarcastically.

Joe smiled, “She isn’t.” He replied simply with a smug smile.

I looked at him, confused. “You broke up with her?” What I said came out much more high pitched than I expected it to, this caused Joe to laugh at me.

“Yes I did.” He laughed, splashing some water against his face.

My face lit up with glee and I couldn’t help it, I jumped across the hot tub and into his arms. I wanted to feel sorry for him I really did, but I was happy to have my best friend back. Especially now when his arms were tight around me and his face was pressed against the side of mine.

“As much as I know you wont believe it, I really did like her, a lot.” Joe whispered to me.

Suddenly I felt guilty, my best friend had just broken up with his girlfriend and I was happy. I should be sad, I should be comforting him instead I’m gloating and smiling. But after that new revelation I wasn’t smiling anymore. It was time for me to be a best friend and console him the best I could.

“Wanna chill and watch a movie, my fingers look like raisins.” I joked, though he didn’t laugh, and he nodded.

We both climbed out of the Jacuzzi, Joe first who then helped me out so I didn’t fall. “You pick the movie.” Joe smiled and ruffled my hair.

I sighed, ruffling my hair… a very ‘we’re just friends’ gesture. I forced a smile and wandered into my room where I changed into some long pink pyjama bottoms and a white v-neck shirt. I browsed through my small bag of DVD’s and pulled out Juno.

I pulled all my hair back into a messy bun, clipping my fringe to the side of my head out of the way also. I skipped out of the room and into the lounge where Joe sat with a bowl of pop corn and two diet cokes on the table in front of him. I jumped over the back of the sofa then jumped up to put in the DVD.

Once I’d put it in Joe opened up the blanket he had brought from his room and I crawled underneath it with the remote. I looked up to Joe once I’d pressed play, he did look sad; he’d hid it very well through the day.

Slowly I snaked my arms around his waist and laid my head on his chest. Joe pulled me closer to him then grabbed my legs and placed them so they were over his lap. Just like he did in the restaurant he gently grabbed a hold of my thigh and rubbed it through my pyjama bottoms.

“We’re back to how we were before it all began.” Joe whispered into my ear.

I tilted my head up to look at him with a smile tugging at my lips. “I much prefer it this way.” I told him honestly.

He preciously kissed my forehead then we went back to watching the film.

The next morning I was rudely awoken by someone ringing our bell, but I refused to get out of bed. Too much effort, Joe could get it. I settled down again soon after that and fell asleep only to be awoken by the phone beside me ringing. It stopped ringing but I picked it up anyway.

On the line was Denise, she was talking to Joe. “How many times Joseph?”

“Sorry mommy, I’ll take it off.” Joe answered, his voice raspy from his period of sleep. It made me smile.

Denise sighed, but I could tell she was smiling. “Okay, I’ll come make sure you’re both awake. Live and mobile today.”

I groaned and put the phone back onto its stand. I had completely forgotten about the cameras that would be following us on our journey to Vegas on the plane and around the venue, basically all day. I wasn’t really in the mood for it, hence my distaste for getting out of bed. I listened as Joe stumbled his way to the door to unlock the deadbolt then make his way back to bed. I don’t see why he didn’t just stay up instead of getting comfortable in his bed again only to be told to get up and shower by Denise.

Just as I had predicted Denise came in with two men carrying small hand held cameras, went into Joe room and woke him up.

“Wake Julia up too.” Denise told him and my eyes shot open.

“Awesome.” Joe sounded suddenly awake and mischievous.

“Nicely…” Denise added. "Breakfast will be on the plane, we don't have much time."

I smiled to my self and moved about in bed, sinking closer into the sofa materials around me. I heard Denise and the camera men leave, then Joe enter my room. I groaned as he switched on the light, “Go away, darkness is my friend.” I grumbled.

Joe took a run up and before I could move his large, muscular body was on my back. “Morning.” Joe said in the most annoying chirpy voice ever.

“I heard Denise say nicely by the way.”

Joe rolled off my back and tugged the sheets off my and onto the floor, the cold air pinched at my skin but I ignored it and stayed laid on my front hugging the pillow. Joe rolled over onto my back and I cringed.

“What?” He asked, resting his arms over mine and letting his head lay next to mine.

“I can feel your hairy chest.” Joe let out a few short laughs at me then rolled off my back and onto his feet.

He grabbed my arm and pulled me off the bed, instead of taking the initiative to stand up I hit the floor. “Come on little lady, get up, long day.”

I held out my hand for him, he put his in mine and pulled me up onto my feet, “Thanks.”

Joe smiled and nodded to me, then skipped out of my room and into his making me laugh, he seemed happier today than last night. I obeyed his orders and began to get ready for the long day ahead of us. I washed my hair and cleaned my body, nothing woke me up better than a shower plus it set me up for the plane ride. I sprayed my armpits and body before getting dressed.

I wore a
plain white vest top then pulled on a black mini ra-ra skirt over it, drapping a multi chain golden necklace around my neck. I slipped my feet into some pointed flat shoes and picked out a black over the shoulder bag as a carry on for the flight along with a light blue cardigan.

I speedily blow dried my hair, leaving it curly then watching it gradually drop into a light wave as I spread some foundation over my face and some black liquid eye liner over my top lid and some mascara.

Once I’d sorted my hair and face out I put some make up into my handbag along with some things I’d need for during that day and some blue rimmed Wayfarers. I threw some of the clothes that were dotted around my room into my suitcase then zipped it up and pulled it out into the longue after pulling the sheets off my bed to help out the maids.

“Ready?” Joe asked, slipping the black version of my Ray Bans over his eyes.

I nodded and pulled up the handle to my case, dragging it behind me lazily as I followed Joe out into the hall way. Security were there waiting for us along with Denise and Paul.

“Come on Julia, you, Emma and Danielle are coming down with me now into a car so we can move quicker when it comes to the airport. The band has already left along with Jordin and your mom so speed it up!” Denise chuckled.

She pushed me along with my suitcase away from Joe. I turned my head and gave him a small smile, he returned it with a wave and left me to scurry off with my thoughts.
