He Talks Like a Pirate and Loves Rubber Duckies
Keana Conaire is your typical over-achiever. She is conservative, mature, and adult-like in every way. Her dad works at a highly respectable mental institution, The Jacob Livingston Institute for Mental Illnesses. After months of volunteering, filing papers and disinfecting rooms, Keana is invited to work with actual patients. There she meets a boy, sixteen year old Owen Vernus, to be exact. Owen has an unidentified mental illness that causes him to believe he is a nine year old boy. As Keana continues talking to Owen, she changes. Owen helps her realize her past has affected her personality. Owen helps bring out her inner kid.
So, when Keana finds out her new best friend is a victim of a crazy group testing on people's brains, she knows it's her responsibility to save him and the rest of the patients. But when you're one girl, working against an entire organization...you have your work cut out for you.
