Life After Death

Chapter 2- Goodbye, I will always love you…..

I slowly emerged out of my car and grabbed my umbrella. I smoothed my shirt down trying to stop my tears from falling. It had been 2 weeks since my brother’s accident, and I haven’t stopped crying since dad called the day after my brother’s fall from the hospital crying I knew I had lost my best friend, my brother, my better half, my twin. I finally made it to the top of hill with everyone else. I looked around and saw jake’s friends from his skate team, all dressed in black suits but still wearing skate shoes. I slightly smiled at the sight. The preacher cleared his throat and began.

“Death. We can never know when it will come but we hurt bad afterwards. Now we know Jake Brown will always be remembered as son, a brother, a friend-“

“And a damn great skater,” One of his friends interrupted, which go a bunch of low laughs. I smiled more and kept thinking about Jake. I just tuned out the preacher just staring at his coffin.

Later that day during dinner, it was really quiet, my parents quietly eating not saying anything just staring at the empty dinner place at the table.
