Status: I am writing as we speak. I've had writers block and struggled to refine the story for so long. I'm back though and a new chapter should be up by the end of the week

Pitch Black Heaven

Hide And Seek

"I'm scared Rhi!" Tiarne stressed as we skidded into the car park of the camp.

"I am too." I agreed. Whoever was following us seemed to have lost track of us, so we were safe. For now.

"There's his car!" She shouted, pointing to the sleek black Camero parked under the shade of a large tree. We sprinted towards it as I hit the button unlocking the doors.

"I'll drive." It wasn't a question.

I slipped into the car and onto the black leather seat. The car was amazing, that was all I could say. The car thrummed to life and I hit the gas with as much force as possible, I wasn't going to think about what would happen if Liam caught up to us. But most importantly I wasn't going to think about Zach.

"You like him don't you." Tiarne stated. I didn't reply. My face probably gave it all away. "I know you do." She continued, not fazed by my silence.

"I don't get why it matters to you." I grumbled. I instantly felt bad, I hated being rude to her.

"Sorry..." She muttered staring out the window. I didn't know exactly where I was driving but I hoped we could find the nearest gas station because we were running low on petrol.

"Are you kidding me!" Tiarne shouted. "Did Zach rig this car or something?!" The gas meter flicked to empty and I decided to pull over on the side of the road.

"Great, just great!" I howled stumbling out of the car, slamming the door behind me. Tiarne sighed walking to my side.

"What are we going to do now?" She asked. I thought about it, but my thinking was interrupted by a silver car speeding around the corner. I saw the person in the front seat point to me.

"We run!" I yelled turning for the cover of the forest. Just as we disappeared into the darkness there was a skidding of tires behind us and car doors opening and closing.

"Run." I hissed frantically, pushing Tiarne forward. I grabbed a handful of her jacket and followed her.

"I don't want to go back into the forest." She squealed, her voice low and frightened.

I signed, I didn't either. "Fine, stay on the fringe of the forest and we'll make it back onto the road." I told her. Her dark shadow nodded and I made sure not to lose her as lead me along the edge of the forest, flickers of the road appearing every few seconds.

"Rhi." Tiarne suddenly whispered.

"Yes?" I whispered anxiously. I heard her gulp as she turned to face me.

"We need to hide." She breathed. I could hear the strain in her voice.

"Why-" I couldn't finish.

"Come out, come out where ever you are." A female voice called.

"Oh my god!" I shrilled hoarsely. I felt her tug at my coat as she scrambled into the nearest tree.

"Get up here." She grabbed my arm and attempted to pull me up. But it was too late.

"Don't make a sound." I commanded her. I ran -not waiting for an answer - and hid behind a tree, my breathing jagged. I sat on the damp ground. I could feel the tears coming. My breathing became louder as I fought to keep them in.

"Come out, come out." The lady cooed. My hands snapped up to my mouth as I tried desperately to muffle my breathing. I couldn't calm down, I felt like the intensity of the moment was crushing my lungs leaving me gasping for breath. "Come out." She crooned. My jaw was jittering like it was below zero degrees but it wasn't, and that showed how scared I was.

"Oh-" My voice was high, the tiniest sound escaping my lips.

The girl breathed a laugh, a triumphant laugh. I could hear her approaching. "Oh, there you are." He voice became almost a growl as her cool hands grabbed my neck. She had her arms around the tree holding me there like a chain. She swiveled around - her arms still pinning me to the tree - until her face was leveled with mine. I whimpered praying that somehow I would be saved.

"Please-" I didn't know how to finish my sentence. I assessed her dim figure. She looked to be around Liam's age, she had frighteningly blonde hair almost white. Her eyes were an alluring teal color while her skin looked like smooth alabaster in the darkness. Her eyeliner was just as thick as mine making her eyes intimidating to look at.

She laughed again, more menacingly. "Liam didn't tell me his little Mi-Mi was a pathetic little freak." She bushed my fringe away from my eyes.

"I am not a freak!" I grunted with as much venom as I could manage as I tried pointlessly to wriggle out of her grip. "And its Rhiannon to you." I added smirking. If I was going to die, I would go down with a smirk on my face.

"Shut up you little freak." Her smooth hand made its way to my throat as she pushed it back into the tree strangling me in the process. I gasped for air, worse than before. My fingers clawed at her hands trying to pry them off but this only enraged her further. I screamed with my last breath, sure that death would soon follow. But her hands suddenly left my throat.

"Did you seriously think I would kill you?" She mocked with a roll of her eyes.

"Who are you?" I asked. She pulled a gun from her belt, one hand still holding me firmly to the tree.

She flipped it around in her hands as if it was only a toy. "Oh, I'm hurt. Didn't Liam tell you about me?" I shook my head. "I'm his girlfriend." She grinned wickedly probably seeing the
loathing in my eyes.

"I always knew Liam was an idiot... but you, for a girlfriend? He must me mental." I joked, an edge to my tone.

Her lip curled over her teeth like a wild animal ready to pounce. She shoved me into the tree hand held the gun to my temple. Her lips were mashed into a hard line. "Liam loves me." She spat. Obviously there was something going on behind the scenes. I frankly didn't want to know.

"Get away from her!" Tiarne's body flew through the air as she tackled the lady to the ground. I flinched away when Tiarne began punching her head. The lady shrieked until she
drifted into unconsciousness.

"Go Tiarne!" I cheered.

She grinned, but turned serious. "We'll go back to the Camero and steal the silver car, her partner went the other way so he won't see us and I'm sure Zach will be able to find his Camero when he comes looking for us." I nodded and she continued. "Then we'll drive the long way back to the lake and we'll meet our school there." Her head turned back to Blondie
lying lifeless on the ground. "She isn't dead." She reminded me. Only then did I notice I was shaking.

I walked to her body and pulled the gun from her hand. "We might n-need this-s." I said shakily. Tiarne nodded wordlessly.

- ZACH'S POV -

Scarlett approached me stuffing her gun under the hem of her jeans. "Area's clear, Liam and Flynn fled together and I don't know what happened to the rest of them." I nodded. "So, we caught two of his men but they won’t give us any information, what should we do?" I barely understood what she said, I couldn't think straight.

"Uh..." Was all I could manage.

Her face was suddenly soft. "She'll be fine." She assured me, punching me shoulder.

I smiled. "I hope so." My voice was no more than a whisper in the wind.

"Aaron's not here." She noted.

"I know... he never fights anymore... not since..." I didn't finished, not sure I could get any more depressed.

"It's not your fault." She disagreed cracking her knuckles. "It’s that fucking Ailee chick..." She cussed. Ailee, don't get me started about that girl. I hated her almost as much as Liam.

"Does Liam even have a heart?" Scar wondered.

I shook my head, smiling sheepishly. "No. I don't think he does." I responded, we both laughed quietly.

"Do you want a ride?" She asked. I did need a ride. Thoughts of Rhiannon in a wild car chase came to my mind, I didn't like thinking about her right now.

"Uh, yeah sure." I smiled my thanks and we walked to Marcus.

~

"So where exactly did you tell them to go?" Marcus asked for the third time.

"I just said 'drive far away'." I quoted trying to force relaxation upon myself.

"Hey Zach, isn't that your Camero?" Scarlett jabbed a finger a black car parked on the side of the road. Beside it were tire marks of another car, but there wasn't another car there.

"Yeah, that’s it." Marcus hit the brakes and we skidded to a stop right beside me shiny black Camero. We all got out. I stroked the hood of my car as I peered into.

"Well we might as well be blind going in there." Marcus got back into his car but left the door open.

"Well there are tire marks here, and someone must have left this place. Let’s hope it was Rhiannon and her friend." Scar bent down and hovered over the marks left in the mud.

"Well my fuel meter reads empty so the girls must have gotten out here." I seconded tapping the gas meter. "I'm such an idiot, I should have filled up. They could be dead because of me!" I moaned hitting my head lightly against the window of my car.

"Oh here we go again with the ‘it’s all my fault’ bullshit. Stop blaming yourself and pull it together." I watched as Scar opened Marcus's boot and pulled out some sort of metal bottle. She filled my tank with petrol and dumped the container back in the boot.

"You go find her." She said firmly, the authority in her voice was strong. "Marcus and I will go back towards camp and go further east. You keep going this way and we'll meet back at camp at seven am." She instructed me. I could only nod, knowing my voice would not make an appearance at that very moment.

"Thanks." I called out. She paused before getting in the car.

"No problem, now go. Oh, and good luck." She grinned and I couldn't help but grin back. Scar was lucky to have Marcus and Marcus was lucky to have her. And I wouldn't be lucky to have Rhiannon if I didn't go and find her now.

I got into my car mechanically and tried hard not to let the fury take over my body. I wouldn't let anything happen to her. If it’s a war Liam wants, it’s a war he'll get.
