And so our story begins...and ends...
She had never been more content in her life than in this moment. She was held close against his chest, listening to the sound
of his heartbeat and looking up at the night sky above. "I love you.", he whispered against her face just before he softly kissed
her head. *ring ring* her phone went off. "hey mom" "you need to come home soon, it's starting to storm here and i don't
want you driving in this, especially in the dark.""ok, i'll leave in 30 minutes.bye" she hung up the phone and sighed as she turned
her head so she could look into his beautiful brown eyes."i don't want to leave""i know honey. i don't want you to leave either
but i don't want you to drive in the rain. i had a nightmare that you wrecked.""honey i'm not going to wreck.""just please be careful
alright?""ok i will." they laid in silence and looked at the brewing sky above them. the wind started to pick up and a low but strong
rumbling could be heard coming from the dark clouds that now blocked out the once clear sky. "honey maybe you should start
going home, i don't want you to drive in this storm.""no, i want to stay here with you until i absolutely have to leave." he sighed
and pulled her closer to his chest. she could tell he was getting worried and silently wondered if maybe he was right. he shifted his
body and held himself above her as he took a good long look into her eyes as if he was trying to remember every last detail. she smiled
and lifted her hand and began to stroke his heavenly face. he leaned into her hand and kissed her the palm of her hand. "i promise i will
always love you and that's never going to change.""i promise you too baby." he leaned down and kissed her softly but passionately.
the sky above began to rumble louder and lightning began to flash.she saw the worry in his eyes as he asked her again "i really think that you
should start heading home now.""no, i'm not going before i have to. " she held herself closer to him and settled her head into his chest. after a
minute he tilted her eyes to look up at him and she saw how he truely felt in a small tear in the corner of his eye. she placed her hand on his cheek
and slowly but carefully wiped the tear from his watering eyes. "honey i'll be fine. i promise you.""ok, i just love you so much, and i don't want
anything to happen to you.""i know baby, i know, but i'm gonna be alright." he held up her phone to check the time, there was only a few minutes
left before she had to leave. "ugh", they both said when he put the phone back on the ground next to them. she started to think about how worried
he was and the thought crossed her mind that it was possible this could be the last time she ever sees him. as if he could read her thoughts, he stared
into her gleaming hazel eyes and kissed her as though this kiss would be their last. he checked the phone again,it was time. "come on, it's time for you
to get going.""i know", she said as she stood up and waited for him to do the same. they slowly walked over to her car and as she was opening the door
his hand quickly and unexpectedly shut it as he pushed her up against the car and wrapped his arms around her. she looked up at him and saw a mix of
emotions written on his face. he leaned down and kissed her with a fierce passion that she had never felt before. and thats when she knew. she knew he
was saying goodbye, just in case this was it. as they stood locked in a final farewell, the rain started coming down.she separated from him and got into
the car, he kissed her several more times and constantly repeated "please be careful." they kissed one last time before she closed the door. "call me when
you get home.""ok i will." she pulled the car out of the driveway as she took one last look at him. she loved him more than anything in the world, and
the feeling of seeing that in his eyes tonight, knowing that he returned the feeling exactly was almost overwhelming.she
began to cry just as the rain started coming down. she drove the 30 minutes back to her home through the storm in the dark,she knew she
would never break a promise to him.she put the car in park, picked up her phone, and dialed his number. one ring later, he picked up."hello?""i'll live to kiss you another night."
