Take My Hand and Don't Let Go

"Serena, how the hell am I supposed to get my mind off of Nick ?" I asked her

She immediately threw a piece of paper in my face.

" I forgot that Kevin gave this to me, but our whole family is going to this and it would be good for you to come, and Joe's girlfriend can't make it so you can go as his date" she babbled to me

I looked over the piece of paper again. "Serena this isn't the Renaissance or whatever, but all I know is that I do not want to go to a masquerade ball"

"Come On Tiffany !" she nearly yelled "it would mean a lot to us"

"fine, I'll go" I said to stop her annoyance, this was the one thing I hated about Serena, when she really wanted something, she would get annoying.

"yay !" she said clapping her hands together and jumping up and down.

I dragged myself off the couch and put the paper on my coffee table.

"I'm going to get dressed into something else" I said, zoning their replies out.

* Joe's POV

Once Tiffany's door was closed, Serena came jogging up to me, her face was beaming.

"my plan is going to work !" she said in a hushed tone, but still cheerful

"may I ask what your plan is ?" I asked her, spreading peanut-butter onto a slice of bread

"well" she said, leaning on the marble covered breakfast bar "Tiffany is going as your date, and then I'm gonna pretend to be having my contractions, like I'm 2 months early, but I'm really not, so your mother will send Tiff into the closet to get my jacket, and your dad will send Nick into the closet at the same time to get Kevin's jacket, and then once they both get in there, we will be slamming the door, and have someone guard it so the don't pick the lock, and then they will be forced to talk there, but they will have to keep the masks on" she explained to me, with a mischievous grin on her face

"Serena, you are a genius" I said to her

"I know" she said

"does everyone else know about this ?" I asked her

"Kevin and your mom know" she said, taking a sip of water "they should be telling Nick right now, because before we left there, Kevin told me this plan, and then after we left he told Denise, know they are telling Nick the 'plan'" she said in air quotes "then they will tell Paul, but we will most certainly not be telling Frankie because Frankie--"

"can't keep a secret" I finished for her

"you got that right" she said

"I wonder how the plan is going for Nick right now.." I wondered

* Nick's POV

" a masquerade ball ?" I asked, shocked to my brother "seriously Kevin ?"

"I am serious young one, besides mom really wants us all to go, and this is a good way to get your mind off of Tiffany" he said to me

I thought about it for a minute,it's not like Tiff would be there, she probably has dance or something, and I would meet a new girl there and forget all about Tiffany

"your right Kevin" I said after a moment "this would help me"

"thats great bro" he said, giving me an awkward hug "mom will be happy too"

"your right" I said trying to get him off of me

He finally let go

"I'm gonna tell mom" he said, and then I was all alone
