You Said You Were There for Me

Chapter 1

I watched the car drive my derranged mother away. I called the one person I knew would come over and stay with me until I got plans. I dialed Hayley's number carefully on my LG Lotus.

"Hullo?" She asked, probably taking a nap from writing lyrics all night.

"Hey," I said, tears couldn't help but caress my face.

"I'll be over asap." She said, I heard a door close in the far distance of the line as the line went dead. I smiled to myself as soon I was walking down the stairs, being careful not to get a splinter. Hayley walked through the door wearing black skinny jeans and a skeanimals shirt. She kicked a plank of wood from our old door and looked at me questionally, then it clicked and she smiled.

"Yes!" She screamed, hugging me.

"Where am I supposed to go?" I asked, confused.

"Call your dad!" She said pushing me into the living room.

"Fine,Fine!" I said, dialing the number. While it was ringing, Hayley asked what my father's job is. He is a cafe shop owner of a small town I have yet to find the name of.

"Hello?" A teenage boy anwsered.

"Ummm is this Leo Whinn's number?" I asked.

"Yes, he's busy right now," He said, pausing hearing a sniffle,"Are you crying?"

"Yeah, it's a long story."

"Is this his daughter?" The boy asked, understanding.

"Yes, I-"

"William, I can take it from here thank you," I heard my father's voice cut in.

"Hey dad. I need a favor..."

"Great...the words every dad wants to hear," He said, laughing. I couldn't help but smile.

"Mom got arrested for life and I need somewhere to stay. I can buy the plane tickets, I just need someone to live with."

"Book your plane. I do have to say that I have a group of boys staying with me on and off...but I don't think they'd bother you," He said, I could hear his smile through the reciever.

"I'll book it now for sometime this week...thanks Dad."

"Your welcome. I love you."

"I love you too, Dad." I said, hanging up. I ruffled my hair.

"And?" Hayley asked, pushing her hair back in a ponytail.

"I'm moving to Illinois this week!" I said, happy. We both hugged each other and she helped me take my stuff to her house. I booked the tickets for a flight the next day.

I stayed with Hayley that night.

"My dad's got money, I'll fly you out once every two months. We'll talk all the time."

"Agreed." She said, turning out the light for my last night in this rundown town.
