Full Mental Case

Moving on down

I walked in from work and saw Troy's car sitting in my yard. I thought he probably came over to take me out for breakfast but when I walked in. I saw him sitting on the floor pulling open a box he looked up and smiled. I looked around my house was covered in boxes.

"Troy, what are all these boxes?" I asked him.

"I moved in. Remember when we talked about it?" he asked me.

Either I was really drunk or he did this on his own.

"Yeah. Do you think we're ready?" I asked him.

He walked over to me and hugged me.

"I know we're ready. I love you and I think we should be closer don't you?" he asked.

"Yes, what about your apartment?" I asked him.

"I gave them my thirty day notice. I'm almost moved out. Some of your stuff may have to go into storage." he said.

"My stuff. I worked for this stuff what are you talking about?" I asked him.

He pulled away and put his arm around my shoulder.

"It's just a few things. Plus this place is big enough for me and you." he said and kissed my cheek.

"I guess." I said to him and sighed.

"How was work?" he asked me.

"Fine." I said to him.

"You didn't talk to that Chace guy did you?" he asked.

"Him... no of course not." I said to him.

He stood in front of me and held my chin.

"I know when you're lying." he whispered to my lips.

"I'm not lying. I didn't talk to him." I said trying to keep my voice calm.

"Okay." he said and kissed my lip.

Then he pulled away.

"Come on help me unpack." he said to me.

After he unpacked we ordered Chinese food of course I had to pay for it.

"So, since you're moving in are you going to share with half of the rent?" I asked him.

"Half how much is the whole?" he asked me.

"Four hundred." I said to him.

"Two hundred then, yeah, I can do that." he said.

"You sure?" I asked him.

He glared at me.

"If I say I can, I will." he said to me.

"Okay." I said and poked at my rice.

"Are you going to get ready for work?" he asked me.

"I'm off tonight." I said to him.

"Want to do something?" he asked me.

"I thought we were doing something?" I asked him.

He got up and walked towards me and kissed my ear.

"Come on." he said and grabbed my wrist tightly. I couldn't help but follow him.

He lied me on the bed as he undid his pants and shirt.

"I'm tired, plus my food didn't digest yet." I said to him.

He climbed under the blanket and rubbed my arm.

"Come on." he said to me.

"Can't we do it later, or in an hour." I said to him.

"Come on." he said in a very stern voice as if I was an animal.

I sighed loudly and took off my clothes and then climbed into bed.

"You sure that nail mark thing isn't infected?" he asked me.

"Yes." I said to him.

He climbed on top of me and kissed my lips and my cheek.

"Hold on for the ride of your life." he said to me.

Four minutes and twenty-five seconds later. I laid in bed staring at the roof while he walked out of the room butt naked to sit on my couch. I sighed I couldn't even fake pleasure for him. That's how boring he was. I had to second think my boyfriends in the future.

The next night at work. Gregory and I played chess while Chace watched TV. I waited for Gregory to make his move. He picked up his knight and moved it towards my king.

"Check." he said.

I used my queen to knock his knight down.

"That was my last good piece all I have are pawns and a bishop." he said.

"Looks like you lose." I said.

"But wait." he said to me and he moved his pawn one space knocking my king over.

"Hey you cheated." I said to him.

"No, I didn't. I said check that time. You just never fixed it." he said.

I giggled.

"I want a rematch." I said to him.

"You're on." he said to me and set them up again.

"You guys want to watch wrestling?" Chace asked.

"Turn it back to the surveillance channel." I told him.

"Fine." he said and sighed.

I turned and looked at all the different halls and then raised an eyebrow when I saw one of the elevator doors open and close on it's own.

"Go." Gregory said to me.

Chace got up.

"Where are you going?" I asked him.

"I'm going to check out something. I'll be right back." he said.

"Go." I said to Gregory.

Chace walked down the hall way looking around. He could sense someone and then he saw the door to one of the patient's rooms opened. He pushed it open.

"I can make the voices go away." a woman hissed to a girl sitting up in her bed.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yes." she hissed.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Chace asked.

The woman turned around and Chace's eyes became wide.

"Chace it's been a long time no see." she said.

"Maribeth. You..." he started.

"I rose last night. I met your friend again while you were helping Addy." she said smiling.

"You need to get out now!" Chace said.

"Why, I'm giving this young girl the opportunity to a normal life without voices." Maribeth said holding the girls hand.

"She can really do it." the girl said.

"No, she's lying to you. She can't do it." Chace said.

"Chace, you need to understand that we're going to keep moving forward no matter what you do. I don't understand why you gave up this life. It's wonderful. I fell twenty years younger." she said standing up.

"Maribeth, you get out of here now." Chace said.

"Or what you're going to call security? I dare you." she said.

Chace gritted his teeth.

"Leave." he said.

She smiled and walked towards the door.

"Pryce left you a message. Watch your back." she hissed and walked out then turned down the corridor.

"Are you okay?" Chace asked the girl.

"She was going to help me." the girl whined.

"She's not a good person." Chace said and closed the door back.

"Check mate." I said to Gregory.

"No way, I want a rematch..." he stopped and sniffed the air.

"What?" I asked him.

We turned and saw her.

"Maribeth." I said.

"It's not what it looks like." Gregory said shaking his head.

"I quit last week, I saw that this life isn't for me. Working for the psycho's isn't for me helping them is." she said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked her standing up.

She stopped and her nose wrinkled.

"Ooh, you both smell like werewolf." she hissed.

I gasped bumping into the table. Greg stood up beside me.

"Leave us alone." he said.

"I don't want you two but I will be back. Us vampires and we'll turn this place out." she said and smiled and turned on her heel and walked away.

Chace stood beside Gregory.

"She's not going to hurt you guys." Chace said.

"But she said us vampires." I said to him my chest pounding.

"I'm ready to go back to my room." Gregory said.
