Use Somebody

Three.

Abigail's first two days in Thunder Bay were spent entirely in her room crying. Linda brought up breakfast, lunch, and dinner- but she rarely ate. What she did eat she mostly threw up and she had a constant migraine from crying so hard. Marc didn't tell anyone but his Mother what happened to Abigail- he felt she deserved to know more than anyone else. He didn't dare tell his brothers or his Father though, they would never understand mostly because Marc himself didn't understand. He would never know what it felt like to be in Abigail's place and he was thankful for that. His hope in telling his Mom was that she would help Abigail through it. He felt like she would give her some motherly advice and Abby would feel better.

But after two straight days of crying, Marc knew this wasn't something that could be solved overnight. Hell, he didn't even know if it would be solved over the summer. And it worried him deeply. He could hear her crying through the walls at night, and it just killed him.

The rest of the Staal boys couldn't help but wonder about Abigail. All they knew was her name, that she was Marc's friend, and that she spent her days and nights crying constantly. They badgered Marc with questions, none of which he would answer. He would tell them eventually, but he just felt it wasn't the right time.

Abigail was in a state of constant depression. She couldn't shake the images from her head, she couldn't stop herself from feeling his hands all over her, she only felt his lips on hers, she only heard his husky voice surrounding her. Her dreams were only flashbacks from that night, so she just didn't sleep. She spent too much time crying to do so anyway. But she was tired, she was so tired. All she wanted to was curl into the fetal position and sleep until she was better; until she was over it. But she knew that couldn't happen and it killed her every day.

On Abigail's third day in Thunder Bay she took a shower until the water ran cold and she was shivering. She scrubbed her skin until it was raw and red, trying so incredibly hard to rid herself of feeling him all around her. She changed into a pair of grey basketball shorts and a black v neck. She brushed her hair and placed them in two small pigtail braids. She stared in the mirror at herself. Her green eyes were dull and bloodshot, heavy dark circles hung under them and her slightly freckled face was blotchy. She looked a mess, but she looked better than she did before her shower and for the first time in two days she stepped out of her bedroom.

She walked downstairs slowly, stopping every so often to look at the pictures all over the walls. When she finally made her way to the kitchen, the only person standing there was Jordan. She looked around quickly, hoping there was someone else home.

"They're all out," Jordan said, as if he was reading her thoughts.

"Oh," Abigail said softly. She took a seat at the kitchen table and stared out the window, letting her eyes wander around the farm.

"Do you want anything?" He asked her.

"I'm fine," she said.

"I'll get you a water then," he smiled. Abigail set her gaze to the tall blonde and she studied his features. He looked more like Eric than he did Marc, but he had more boyish features than Eric. He looked much younger than his other brothers and after putting everything together in her head she realized he was the second youngest. She knew he played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and he was the "wild child" of his brothers as Marc had once put it. She also knew he had just won the Stanley Cup and she wondered why he was back home so soon.

Jordan set a glass of water down in front of Abigail and took the seat next to her, folding his hands and placing them in front of him. He set his eyes to the tiny brunette and he studied every inch of her face. Abigail sipped her water and became increasingly uncomfortable sitting next to Jordan. Every time she closed her eyes she would feel him on her, touching, groping. She had to shake herself from her daydreams frequently and focus on reality. She wanted to think of anything else, but that was all that haunted her mind.

"So you know Marc?" Jordan finally asked. Abigail was sipping her water when he asked and she shook her head once she placed it back on the table in front of her.

"We live in the same apartment building," Abigail explained shortly and in a very small voice.

"So why'd you come here for the summer?" He asked. Abigail's thoughts were frantic as she tried to come up with some excuse in her head. All she could see were his eyes as he violated her in the worst way possible. She couldn't focus on anything else, and she started to panic.

"I-uh, well-"

"Abby!" Marc's happy cry cut Abigail's stuttering explanation off and she couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief. Jordan looked at her oddly and then looked back at his brother. "You're out of your room," he said cheerfully. Marc couldn't hide his excitement when he saw Abby sitting at the table with his brother. He felt as if she had made a step in the right direction towards getting better.

"Marc," she smiled smally; it wasn't a fake smile either and that just put Marc over the moon. In many ways Marc always felt like Abigail's older brother. He was always there when she got too drunk and couldn't find her keys, he was there to scare off now ex-boyfriends, and he was there to give her speeches about how boys worked. Marc felt responsible for Abigail and that might have been why he felt so strongly about her rape. He just wanted her to feel whole again.

"Were you bothering her?" Marc shot his younger brother a glare that could kill. Jordan simply smiled and laughed lightly.

"I was just talking to her dude, is that illegal?" He asked. Marc shook his head and focused on Abigail.

"Was he bothering you?" He asked her. Abigail looked uncomfortable as she shifted her weight around and played with her fingers nervously.

"No," she said finally. Another smile found it's way onto Jordan's face as he looked over to his brother and gave him a sort of "I told you so" look.

Marc simply glanced back and Abigail and realized this whole thing might have gotten just a little more complicated.
