Don't Forget, We've Got Unfinished Business

After lunch I had two classes with Jack, which was okay since he didn't say anything to me. I was entering Music class when I bumped into him by the door since both of us went in at the same time

"Oh... Sorry," I apologized

"No, It's okay," He replied "Hey, wanna sit next to me?" He added as we made our way to the seats

"Alright." I said as we made our way to the back of the class and sat down at the farthest from the board

"Hey, you know you look and sound really familiar," Jack said ten minutes into the class

"No shit, Sherlock." I thought

"Really?" I replied while looking forward and writing notes into my binder

"Yeah.... Hey! How would you like to come over to Alex's house later after school? It's movie night plus band practice" He said smiling

"Uhh, I'll have to check with my Mom... But, I have Sam's number I'll text her when I've asked my mother then she can text you."

"Alright, but wouldn't that be more complicated? Just give me your phone." He said as he held out his palm, I stared at him for a few seconds before surrendering and giving him my phone, and he gave his to me and I entered my number and he entered his in my phone

"Okay.. Now I think we should pay attention to the teacher." I said as I out my phone back into my pocket

After school Sam and I decided to wait for Jonathan in front of our school instead of walking home since it would take us about 20 minutes

"So, anything interesting happened today?" Sam asked

"No, not really... Jack invited me to go to Alex's house later, which doesn't really make sense to me cause it's not even Jack's house but he's inviting me instead of Alex inviting me, but I don't think I'm going..." I replied

"Other than majorly confusing me, I think you should go. It'd be fun! Cause I'm gonna be there," She said with a huge smile and was batting her eyes at me

"Bah! Fine!" I replied as Jonathan pulled up in front of us and I hopped into the passenger seat and she sat in the back seat

"Sam, where do you live?" I looked at her through the rear view mirror

"Oh don't worry my house is just a few doors down from yours." She said smiling

"Alright," I replied "Thanks for picking us up Jonathan." I said while smiling at him he just grunted in return and I rolled my eyes

After we dropped off Sam, Jon dropped me off and quickly went back to where he worked since his shift usually ends at about 6PM

"Mom?" I yelled but when no one answered I simply shrugged my shoulders and picked up our phone and dialed her office number

"Hello?" My mom answered

"Hi, Mommy!" I said cheerfully

She sighed deeply "What do you want honey?"

"Can I go hang out at Alex's house later?"

"Sure, but be home before I do."

"Alrighty, bye mom, love you."

"Love you too, and no shenanigans!"

"Yeah, yeah." I said then I hung up

After that I texted Sam to pick me up to go to Alex's house after that I went to go change into a happy face pullover sweater some new jeans and my navy converse and I also wore my London heart locket necklace, I was fixing my hair into a messy bun when the doorbell rang. I quickly finished my hair by putting two bow tie clips where my bangs were, then ran to the door

"Hey, Sa-," I said when I opened the door "Woah, your not Sam... Where's Sam?"

"Oh, she already went to Alex's when you texted, she told me to pick you up." Jack replied

"Wha? H-how's that possible I just dropped her off at her house like... 10 minutes ago.." I said as I stepped out the door and locked it

"I dun know, she's a quick walker that girl," Jack said as we stepped onto the sidewalk and made our way to Alex's

"So how far is his house?" I asked him

"Just a couple blocks from here... We'll get there in like.. 10 minutes, I like what your wearing by the way."

"Oh okay, and thanks." I replied

When we got to Alex's house everyone was in the living room trying to figure out what to watch

"Whuddup homie g's?!" Jack exclaimed as we stepped into the threshold of the living room, there was a love seat on either side of the room and a couch in the middle with a T.V. in front of the couch and the walls were in a soft beige color and the sofas were all in a maroon color

"Gangster status doesn't match you boy.." Kara said from one of the loveseats she was sitting next to Rian who had his arm around her

"Meh, it's whatever," Jack said as he went to sit down on the couch "What are we watching this time?"

"Sam here wants to watch Little Miss Sunshine," Alex said from in front of the T.V where he and Sam were arguing

"Well It's way better than Monster House!" Alex gasped

"Get out of my house!"

"Hell to the no!"

"Calm down, jeez you two are like a couple of 10 year olds." Lisa said from the other love seat, then she stood up and walked towards them Alex

"In a show of hands who want's to watch Little Miss Sunshine?" Lisa asked then Kara, Sam and Zack's hand went up

"Dude, what the hell?" Alex asked him

"Whaaat?? Can't a man watch comedy-drama-adventure film without being questioned?"

Alex rolled his eyes, "Bah! Never mind... Queer.." he mumbled the last part to himself

"I heard that!"

"Carrying on! Who wants to watch Monster House?" Me, Jack, Alex, Lisa and Rian all raised out hands "And the hands have it we are watching Monster House." Alex pumped his fist into the air accidentally knocking Lisa over

"Crap! Sorry babe! Are you okay?" Alex then kneeled down to her

"Yeah, yeah.. just put the damned DVD in." She said then she went to the kitchen probably to get our food or an ice pack, Alex just shrugged and popped the DVD into the player

I sat down next to Jack then Zack sat next to me so I was sandwiched in between them, half way into the movie my back was starting to ache due to the cushion I gave to Sam which she was happily laying down on while watching, anyways back to the point, my back was hurting and so I decided to lay down across Jack and Zack with Jack having my head and Zack having my legs

"Heyyy, who said you could lay down on my lap?" Jack questioned

"Me." I said then gave him a very menacing look warning him to shut up

"No, that doesn't count," Jack said in his whiny child like voice

"God! Fine I'll lay down on Zack!" I said then shifted so my head was on Zacks lap and my legs were folded so I wasn't touching Jack, being short has its advantages

"You don't mind me here right?" I asked Zack looking up and him then he looked down at me

"Nope, my legs were getting cold so you can keep them warm," he replied then continued watching and Jack look at me incredulously and I just stuck my tongue out at him then continued watching the movie

After it was done the guys decided to just hang out in the living room cause they were too lazy to do band practice

"What do we do now?" Alex asked while laying his head down on Lisa's lap

"Uh, I don't know but I'm hungry." Rian stated

"Your always hungry Ri," Jack replied as I sat back up from Zack's lap

"Psh! I am not! I hardly complain." Rian retorted and Jack just gave him an 'Mhmm.' added with a little head bob and flick of his wrist

"Not to butt into anything but I'm kind of hungry too," I said

"Well, since 2 of us are hungry means all of us are hungry, me and Kara are gonna go cook some dinner since we haven't already eaten that yet." Lisa said as she stood up from the couch then her and Kara went to the kitchen

"Oh Jackary! Come here I wanna show you something," Alex then exclaimed as he sat back up and then Jack went to sit next to him

"Okay now hold out your hand," and Jack did as he was told and as soon as his hand was up Alex then grabbed it and began to shake it like I did with his hand before

"Oh, crap." I thought

"Uh, Alex," Jack started "Where'd you learn that?"

"From that lil' lady over there," Alex replied then looked at me and I gave him a menacing look then quickly regained my normal face

"Uh, I'm going to go breath in some fresh air, popcorn. Too mucho." I said as I stood up and quickly walked to the front door and stepped out of the house, I then sat on the porch steps

Jack soon followed me outside and I let out a deep sigh "Is it really you Megan?"

"Le duh! How many redheads do you know that have the name 'Megan Reese' on their birth certificate." I looked at him as he sat down next to me then looked back forwards

"Geez, don't need to give me the attitude."

"Whatever."

"Okay, so YOU leave ME and now you're the one whose mad?!" Jack suddenly burst and stood up and looked down at me, I then quickly stood up

"Well, I'm not the one who forgot what their so called 'best friend' looks like!" I added air-quotes

"You didn't even write me or call!"

"I did! You never replied and I couldn't call you because I didn't know your phone number, as stupid as that may sound!"

"Why didn't you tell me it was you from the first moment I saw you?" Jack asked me in a soft voice

"I-I- I don't know! My brain j-just wouldn't let me, Jack I-I have to go my mom is probably home by now.." I said near tears and ran as quickly as I could away from him. I didn't really wan't to run away from him I wanted to talk to him and explain, but I guess life is just hard that way.
