Sequel: Say You Remember Me

Say You Love Me Damon Salvatore

Love Struck

Flashback-

I walked straight into Nicole’s house—we always did that to eachother—and walked toward her bedroom.

“Nicky! I got your goods!” I called, waving the plastic Walgreens bag full of candy.

“Uh, uh…..c-coming, just a sec!” she yelled breathlessly.

I laughed. “You aren’t doing drugs, are you?” I twisted the doorknob.

“N-no, I’m not…..OLIVIA!” Nicole screamed when I opened the door.

My heart pounded against my chest and I felt like I would cry. “Jeremy…”

Nicole was frantically trying to put her clothes back on and Jeremy lay half naked in her bed.

“Babe, this isn’t—“

“Of course it is!” I screamed, tears running down my cheeks. “You stupid bastard! Why am I not even surprised?”

Jeremy walked over to me. “Olivia—“

“Don’t touch me!” I wrenched myself from his grasp. “I hope you two are happy together cause we’re over, Jeremy!” I glared at Nicole, not even able to say the words formed on my lips. She didn’t say anything and I ran out of the house, taking off on foot, since I couldn’t drive.

Now-

“No way!”

“Yes, way.”

“Oh my God!” I jumped up and down like an idiot and hugged Zack around the neck.

He laughed. “I thought you’d love me.”

“Yes, oh my God!” Lane screamed. She looked at Paul with a semi-serious face before kissing him full on the lips.

Delaney laughed at them and kissed Zack. “You’re the man, Zackary!”

He wiggled his brows. “I’m your man.”

Delaney giggled. “You are my man.”

I rolled my eyes, interrupting before they were on the floor. “When is it?”

“This Friday.”

“Oh my God, we’re gonna be on TV this Friday!” Lane squealed, tearing herself from a very surprised Paul. I could see it in his mind right now; goodbye, Juliet.

“How’d you do it?” Delaney asked, snuggling to ‘her man’.

“My uncle is extremely awesome, that’s how,” Zack stated. “We definitely have the New Years bash on the local TV station.”

“What’re we gonna play?” Paul asked.

“I found some pretty cool songs.” I offered.

“Do share,” Zack said with a smirk.

“Well…there’s a couple Paramore songs, this really old song that I like, I’m recently obsessed with Hey Monday….oh, and I was watching ‘That Thing You Do’ and I’d really like do try re-doing that, if you guys want…” I said sheepishly.

“I’m game!” Zack said. “Any others?”

“Ooh, I’m like obsessed with Guitar Hero World Tour, I’m super awesome on the drums, man,” Lane gloated. “They have some great songs on there! We should so do ‘Beautiful Disaster’, ‘Beat It’, only we could probably do the Fallout Boy version. Um….What else….OH! ‘Freak On a Leash’.”

Everyone groaned. “No Korn,” Paul whined.

“’B.Y.O.B?” Lane suggested.

Everyone groaned again.

Lane growled. “Fine! How ‘bout….’Rich Girl’ then,” she said mockingly. “Since that’s so much better than any other suggestions.”

“Not ‘Rich Girl’,” I said. I could never listen to that song, not since the last time Nicole and I sang it together….

Zack cleared his throat. “No worries, we already have a few songs, I can figure out the rest. Oh, Liv! What’s that old song you wanted to sing?”

“Oh, um…” I scratched the back of my head awkwardly. “’The One I Love’, by R.E.M.”

“Also from World Tour!” Lane pointed out loudly.

Zack ignored her. “Okay, great! So, I’ll get the chords to the songs, Liv and Lane can you write down the ones you wanted? And then we can practice either tomorrow or the day after. I’ll call you guys or somethn’.”

We all agreed.

In the meantime, I was helping my mom dress for her date with Joseph Barker….and then drag Damon to a double date with Elena and Stefan. Since he was my boyfriend now. God, I still couldn’t believe he was actually my boyfriend! The way things started out between us, I would have figured I’d never be glad about even dating him……But I was. I really was.

“Mmm…try the red one,” I said, sitting cross-legged on my mom’s bed.

“Ok,” she threw the black dress at me and went into the bathroom to change. She was so nervous, it was like her first date all over again. “Ok, how is it?” my mother came out, an uncertain look on her face. The dress was very flattering, if not maybe a little too low in the front for a first date.

“Well….where’s he taking you?” I asked.

“Some restaurant,” my mom said.

“Cocktail dress?”

My mom paused. “You’re right.” She snatched the black dress from me and ran back into the bathroom.

For the next thirty minutes we spent getting my mom beautified, most the time being wasted looking for her old black pumps; we found them, no worries. Joseph was there five minutes late, a highly acceptable thing.

“Alright, hon, see you later,” she said.

“’K,” I took another look at Joseph, who was smiling at my mother as though she was a goddess. He wasn’t bad looking himself. He was pretty tall with a nicely built body, a square jaw, blue eyes, and dirty blonde hair. Actually he kind of resembled Brad Pitt and Bradley Cooper. “Have fun. Oh, and, Joe….Can I call you Joe….? Have her home by eleven sharp.”

Joseph smiled. “You have my solemn word.”

“Not a minute late, now.”

“I’ll bring her ten minutes early.”

I smiled. “Very impressive.”

My mom rolled her eyes. “It’s a shame you hate the very sight of him, Liv. Bye.”

“Bye,” I shut the door behind her. Wow, all that prepping made me lazy. I didn’t want to go out with Stefan and Elena. I just wanted to hang at home with my boyfriend. Well, I had phone calls to make. First I called Elena. “Hey. My mom is on a date with the drama teach at school.”

Elena giggled. “She has a great choice in men.”

“Uh-oh, I’d better tell Stefan to watch out,” I teased. “Um, but anyway…I’m feeling super lazy, I’m still in my sweatpants right now, and just kinda wanna hang at my house, make sure Mr. Baker brings my mom home on time, you know?”

Elena laughed. “Alright, that’s cool.”

“Maybe we could double…well, I’d say tomorrow, but my band has a huge gig,” No need to brag about the details. “and we really need to practice. So….maybe…Sunday?”

“Sounds good by me.”

“Great. See you at school.”

“Ok, bye.”

“Bye.” Now to call Damon.

“Hello?”

I smiled. “You’ll never guess what.”

I could hear his lovely chuckle. “I dunno, I’m pretty good at guessing games.”

“Oh, well, fine. Guess.”

“Mmm….you’re home alone ‘cause your mom’s going out with the drama teacher.”

I was dumbfounded. “Now how’d you know that?”

“What, you didn’t see the bright red Ferrari out front?”

I opened the curtain to see Damon leaning against his car, smirking and waving at me. “Well, aren’t you clever.”

“That’s what all the girls say,” he teased.

“Should I be concerned?”

He shrugged. “Not really. Say, when you gonna let me in?”

I winced. “I’m in my sweatpants.”

“Very sexy. If you’ll remember, I saw you sick.”

“Oh, yeah, thanks for reminding me,” I groaned. “Well, when you gonna ask to come in?”

“I never ask.”

I quirked a brow. “You don’t, hmm? Well…” I started closing the curtain. Damon made a noise that sounded like a dog whine. Laughing, I said, “I’m being lazy right now.”

He shrugged. “I’ll be lazy with you.”

“I have the TV on.”

“I will watch TV with you.”

“There’s a good chance I might still be ill.”

“I don’t get sick, I already told you that.”

“Well, then—“

“Olivia, oh my God, I could let you make excuses for hours,” he moaned jokingly. “I’m not gonna try to have sex with you, okay? Now let me in.”

“Don’t be so pushy,” I said, trying desperately not to blush. “The sweats stay on.”

“Didn’t I just say that I—“

“Oh, shut up. I’m getting the door.” I clicked the phone off and unlocked the front door. Damon was already on the front porch. “You’re fast.”

“That’s what she said,” he said with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes, though smiling. “I can’t believe I’m dating such an immature person.”

Damon stepped in, closing the door behind him. “But you like me, don’t you?”

I shifted uncomfortable while still tying to look cute. “If I were to say yes would you say I told you so and walk out that font door?”

He grabbed a hold of my waist and pulled me to him slowly. “What would make you say that?” It was obviously a rhetorical question because he kissed me right after he said it.

I linked my arms around his neck, enjoying his kiss. Jeeze, it felt like eternity since he’d kissed me like this. Besides, I’d never kissed him as my boyfriend. I think Damon was just in the mind set to go for second base when the phone rang. I groaned. “I gotta get that.”

“Why?” he whined immaturely.

I laughed. “’Cause it might be my mom seeking an S.O.S,” And I reluctantly pulled away to grab the phone. “Yello?”

“Liv? Hi. It’s me. Jewels. Paul just kinda broke up with me.” Juliet sounded neither tearful nor surprised.

I rolled my eyes. “Jewels, you guys were never dating in the first place.”

Damon had since decided my mother was the only other person I could talk to besides him and was distracting me, kissing my neck.

“I know but it just—“ Juliet stopped when she heard me giggle. “What’re you doing?”

“Nothing!” To Damon I muttered, “Knock it off, you said no sex.”

“Sex!” Jewels screamed.

Damon rolled his eyes. “I meant it. But you never said anything about me not kissing you.”

“Wait, wait, wait, wait! You guys are already in a sexual relationship?!” Jewels screeched in my ear.

“NO!” I yelled back, equally loud. “Look, Jewels, I’ll call you back.”

“Oh, yeah. Gettn’ it on with your new boyfriend.” You get ‘im, girl!”

I stared at the phone as Juliet made inappropriate whistles before hanging up. I glared at Damon. “That was real smooth.”

He shrugged. “You were the one that yelled no sex.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. “C’mon,” I took his hand and dragged him to the couch.

“Oh, so you changed you mind about no sex?”

I glared at him.

He raised his hands defensively. “Just kidding!”

Damon has a presence that can’t be ignored. The entire time we were watching TV I was thinking about not having sex. Do you know how hard it is to tell your mind to stop looking at him, saying

Damon has a presence that can’t be ignored. The entire time we were watching TV I was thinking about not having sex. Do you know how hard it is to tell your mind to stop looking at him, saying you won’t have sex when, in fact, that’s the very thing you want to do? It wasn’t what my mind wanted to hear, though something I really had to beat into it.

I glanced at my watch. “Lookn’ to get rid of me?” Damon teased.

“Hmm? No. Just checkn’ to see whether my mom’s date is gonna be late or early.”

“It’s only been an hour.”

I shrugged. “I know. It’s just a little weird, her dating again.”

“So…what happened to your dad?”

I sighed, knowing sooner or later he’d ask. “Found a younger girl. Divorced my mom when I was nine…never heard from him again. Never cared.”

Damon was frowning.

“What?”

He shook his head. “Nothing.”

“This Joseph guy, though….he seems pretty cool….” I said awkwardly. After a brief awkward silence, I said, “So my band’s performing on TV next Friday for New Years.”

Damon smirked at me. “Yeah? Congratulations.”

“Thanks. So, um….you wanna go?”

“Go where?”

“Damon!”

He chuckled. “Yes, of course I’ll go,” he said, kissing my cheek.

“Thank you very much,” I said all official like. “Hey, you wanna know somethn’?”

“What?”

I kissed him. Not very long, but I did. And I kind of regretted it. Being alone with a really hot guy on your couch dose things to your head.

Damon kissed me back, though and I thought that maybe for sure something would happen, but I heard the key unlocking the door and jumped off the couch immediately, hitting my head on Damon’s head.

“Ow!” I mumbled, rubbing my head.

Damon started bursting out laughing.

“It’s not funny!” I shoved him. He kept laughing.

“I had a really great time tonight,” my mom was saying.

“Get up,” I muttered to Damon and then ran for the door. “Well, you’re early,” I said to Joseph.

He smiled. “As I promised.”

“Will we be seeing more of you?”

Joseph smiled at my mom, who smiled back. “I think so.”

“Good night, Joseph,” my mom said.

“Good night.”

When my mom closed the door, I said, “He wanted to kiss you!”

My mom instinctively glanced Damon’s way. “I can tell he wasn’t the only one awnting kisses.” To Damon she said, “It’s late. Out.”

“Mom—“ I started to say, but Damon got up anyway.

“See you tomorrow, Liv,” Damon said, kissing my cheek. “’Night, Madam Principle.”

When he was gone, my mom said, “You’re seeing an awful lot of that boy. I’m not sure I like it. Maybe you should take some time away from eachother.”

I rolled my eyes, ignoring her. “So, how was your date?”

My mother pounced into the story, taking the bait. Apparently Joseph was very impressive and took her to an Italian restaurant and there was never an awkward moment.

I guess my mom and I are love struck together, now.
