“Hello.” He whispered.

“Hey.”

“I missed you.”

“I missed you too. A lot.”

“And I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry as well.”

“Are you just going to repeat everything I say?” He said with a low chuckle that I felt resonate throughout his whole body.

“It depends,” I grinned, looking away quickly before returning my focus to his rapturous eyes. “Tell me you love me.”

He didn’t hesitate for a second before saying blissfully, “I love you, Sophie.”

After years on the move, Sophie Brown's mother leaves her in the care of her distant father.
