Baby It's Fact

Save It For The Bedroom

We were nearly home. I was sober (kinda) and nervous.

"Alex, relax." Jack said.

"I can't! Let me have one drink!" I pleaded.

" 'Lex, I can't."

"Just one eeny weeny little-"

"Shut up! We need you sober for this!" Jack snapped.

The bus stopped. I whimpered as Rian, Zack and Matt ran off.

"Erm." was all Jack could say. He attempted to rub my shoulder in what was meant to be a comforting way.

"Let's do this."

He dropped his hand.

"Oh, before we go inside."

I linked my arm with Jack's.

"We need to look...couple-y." Jack mumbled.

I moved my arm so it would be around his waist. He responded by putting his around my shoulders. He frowned.

"Still don't feel right."

I wonder why that could be...

He moved his arm to my waist and my arm to his shoulders.

"It'll do." he decided.

"That's not fair, you know." I commented.

"What isn't?"

"You having a drink but not letting me go anywhere near-"

"Alex, shut the hell up."

Jack went from confused to pissed and let go of me.

"Just because you need alcohol to get you through the day doesn't mean that the rest of us do. Ever since Lisa-" I winced "-Alex, you've changed. Bad changed."

Whoa.

"Come on, they'll be wondering where we are."

He roughly grabbed me and went outside.

Zack was pacing up the driveway of my parents' house, obviously wondering whether he should go in the bus and get us.

"There you are!" he exclaimed. He went back inside.

" 'Lex?"

I looked at Jack from the corner of my eye.

"Let's do this."

He skipped through the hallway of the house and stopped when he got to the living room.

"Mommy!" he squealed before running to his mother.

My own mother was staring me down. I grinned and went to hug her. She relaxed after I did.

"Alex, I know I said this before, but really? A phone call wouldn't have hurt." she whispered in my ear.

"Sorry mom." I whispered back.

"Alexander!" Jack's mom yelled. Yeah, those two weren't similar at all.

"Yes ma'am." I saluted.

"I've known for you 14 years, young man, it's Sandra to you." she said sternly.

"Okay." I replied meekly.

She hugged me tight.

"You better not have upset Jack already , May's on her way here."

After we got through the hugs and customary band and family dinner we always had after we returned home, I was tired. It was hard to keep my eyes open.

"Now have you boys sorted out where you're living?" Sandra asked.

I tried lifting my head off Jack's shoulder.

"Yeah, we're going to look for a place but right now we're alright with living at his place." Jack replied, stroking my hair. I gave up on sitting up.

There were some mumbles from the parents about something or other.

"You want to go home?" Jack whispered. From an angle (like where our parents were sat), it looked like something else.

I yawned in reply. He smiled, before a pen was thrown at him.

"Oww."

He held his head.

I looked at his sister, who was smirking.

"Save it for the bedroom, guys."

Zack was also smiling like an idiot.

"A pen? Really May, you could have done better." Jack tutted.

"OK, just don't complain when I throw one of Zack's weights at you."

"Erm, what?" Zack blushed.

It was a good thing that Jack didn't notice his blush...

"Zacky, can I borrow some of your weights?" May said sweetly.

"Sure."

She stuck her tongue out.

Poor Zack.

Quite a while ago, Jack referred to Alex in a tweet as Lex (real life btw). I may have squealed xD
