The Knight in Shining Armor

That Green Backpack.

The whole ride to the recording studio was silent, and almost exactly like on the way to Mcdonalds. I sat in the back of the car, leaning my head against the cool window. Usually, I'd be more excited, but butterflies were happily fluttering around my stomach, making me sick. Fucking butterflies, couldn't they not care about themselves for awhile, and just go away?

We were traveling through a city, and everyone watched as the car went by. Some girls even screamed, and dropped whatever they were carrying. We turned onto a dark road, and I found myself sitting up straighter, observing my surroundings.

“Where are we?” I asked, quietly.

Bill, who I was sitting next to, didn't look at me as he answered,

“The studio.”

I looked around, and all I saw was some poorly paved road, and a little hut about 20 feet to my right.

“The hut?” I asked, cocking my head to the hut.

“Look a little farther,” he laughed. I did just that, but I still didn't see anything. My face must have shown major bewilderment because everyone in the car started laughing.

“I don't get it,” I cried, pressing my face to the glass. Everyone laughed harder, and the car jerked to the left, and then I saw it. A brick building that looked like every other one. Why they were laughing? I had no clue.

“What's so funny about that?” I huffed, crossing my arms across my chest.

“Nothing, just you,” Bill answered. I raised a an eyebrow. This guys were seriously weird. The car stopped and the guys hopped out and kissed the ground.

“Home sweet home,” Tom shouted, grabbing Georg in an attempt to dance with him.

“Get off of me,” he moved away. Tom went puppy-eyed. I stood there watching the boys interact. It seemed that they were truly happy to be back.

“What do you have in that bag anyways?” Someone asked from behind me. I turned to find Bill staring at the old green backpack.

“Nothing important.” I turned away. His gaze was killing me.

“You know you need to talk to us, right?” My gripped my backpack, and turned to face him.

“Sometime, ok?” He smiled and took my hand,

“Well, Rylee, let me show you around.”
