Monster, Monster

August

When school started, i was right. Everything became easier. i would wake up at nine, smoke and snort and inject all morning. By the time Jessie came to the door, I was already so strung up that it was easy to pretend his dirty weed was making me high. He would spend the night, smoking from his colorful pipe while i laid on the floor. My arms and legs spread out like I was a star, my eyes fully dilated. The ceiling had dissipated, allowing me to float up: heaven bound. My spirit waved goodbye to Jessie, hovered over the house, continued upward like a stray balloon. I could feel all the oxygen leave me as I glided through the clouded and straight through the stratosphere. I held my breathe as i passed the moon and greeted the stars with wide smiles. I loved Jessie, but I never wanted to come down from here.
