That Should Be Me

I woke up the next morning and wasted no time telling Kelsey that I was staying.

“Nick I still love you, ya know.” She said to me. “I know."

"What if I stayed too? I don't want this to be the end of us. I want to work things out"

"That's up to you Kelse"

Joe, Kev and I sat down on the couch and we were watching the baseball game, Kelse went to hang out with some friends she recently met.

“So what’s going on between you and D?” Kevin asked me.

“Nothing” I said not taking my eyes of the T.V.

“Tell us” Kevin said.

“Kev, really nothing” I said looking at him

“Not what D told me” Joe said.

“What exactly did D tell you?” I asked Joe.

“She told me you are still completely in love with her and you’d do anything to get her back.” Joe said and I scoffed. “

Yeah right, that’s not true.” Isaid LIED.

“Right, tell us the truth.” Kevin said.

“I just did.” I told him.

“Nick just tell us.” Joe said

“Guys seriously! Nothing is going on between D and me” I lied again.

“Well then explain yesterday” Kevin said. I just looked at him

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I told him, Joe laughed

“Nick are you kidding me, you fucked D yesterday” Joe said

“I didn’t fuck her…” I said quietly.

“Oh then what did you two do in your room yesterday?” Kevin asked

Time to tell the truth.

“Have sex…” I said quietly.

“Mhmm so you and D again huh?” Joe asked.

“No, we were just hanging out and I kissed her, we got caught up in the moment, there you have it.” I told them

"Why’d you kiss her?” Kevin asked me.

“Just because…” I said.

“Because you’re still in love with her.” Kevin said, I stood quiet for a few minutes.

“Yes.” I said

“Then why are you with Kelsey?” Kev asked.

“I don’t know, I mean D has Ricky” I replied

“Nick go after what you want.” Kev said, Joe just rolled his eyes.

“Yeah ok.” I said , “I’m going to D’s house.”

I got up and grabbed my car keys and headed for the door.

“Be safe Nick!” Kevin said while laughing.

“Shut up.” I said and I left.

I knocked on the door, Haley answered. “Oh hey Haley…” I said

“Hey Nick, it's good to see you!” she said as she hugged me

“You too! Is D here?” I asked.

“Yep, come in.” She said “She’s in her room”

“Ok thanks.” I said and I went upstairs and knocked on her bedroom door and went in.

“Hey beautiful” I said, she turned and looked at me

“Hey Nicky” she said and I smiled, I pulled her into a hug and kissed her.

“Mmm, why are we doing this again?” She asked me

“Because I’m insanely in love with you and you’re crazy about me” I said with a smirk

“Hmm oh yeah” She said while wrapping her arms around my neck.

“Nicholas…” She said

“Yes?” I asked her, “I want to be the only girl in your life. I want to be the only girl you love.” She said

“Mmm do you really?” I asked while lying on her bed and she got on top of me

“Yes” she told me, I kissed her

“Your wish is my command” I said and she smiled

“Really?” She asked

“On one condition…”

“What?”

“I want to be the only guy in your life and I want to be the only guy you’re in love with” I said

“Done” she said

“Good” I said. “When do you want me to break up with Ricky?” she asked me, I looked at her and pulled her closer to me

“Now.” I said. She looked at me

“Well I can’t do it over the phone” she said.

“Then tell him to come here.” I told her.

“Ok…” She said, I watched her as she took out her phone and called Ricky and told him that ‘we need to talk’' it was pure joy to my ears. She would soon be mine again

“Should I break up with Kelsey right now?” I asked and she looked at me

“Yes” she said

“Alright” I said with a smile and I kissed her

“I will come back later ok?” I said as I stood up she said alright and she kissed me and I left.
