Sixteen-year-old Abby Fletcher has always wanted to be like her older sister, Georgina: a gorgeous, svelte starlet whom everyone worships. Instead, Abby has lived in the shadows offstage, hoping that the spotlight will never shine on her ugly, chubby face. But a not-so-simple twist of fate changes everything for Abby: after a freak accident, plastic surgeons must rebuild her face. Now Abby is back at the CSPA, navigating her life as the gorgeous one. Suddenly, boys who never noticed her won’t leave her alone, and her best pal, Nick, seems to want more than just friendship. Abby’s biggest problem, though, is Joseph Jonas-the hot theater guru she has loved from afar since freshman year and her best pal Nick’s brother. Joe is directing a play and asks Abby to audition, a dream come true for her. But soon Abby finds herself fighting tooth and nail with Georgina, not only for the role in some Joe’s play, but for a place in Joe’s heart.
