The Ghost of Memories.

My Seventh On The Road.

On my seventh birthday, the boys didn’t have a show. It looked like I was going to spend another long day on the road. When no ‘lessons’ came, I was thrilled. No school on my birthday. I felt like it was a treat, because being homeschooled, it seemed I never had a proper weekend or anything. I always had work to finish on Saturdays, and Sunday was never enjoyable, even with a break, as I just had nothing to do. In an eight seater van with five men, a seven year old girl is bound to get bored. But on my birthday, they all had bought actual food, not just crisps and coke, which was a real treat, and they took me to a cinema, and a bowling alley. I had dinner in the restaurant place of the bowling alley, although after months of fast or junk food, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I would have before we left, when I still lived in New York.
