All I Want to Do Is Dance: Where Are You Now?

Faveourites

Practise was early again, yay for us. Olivia and I rolled ourselves out of bed, did our hair, and changed. Then we headed downstairs for breakfast.

Breakfast was always served in a buffet style, always healthy foods too, as much as I was craving ice cream. We were having waffles, and assorted fruit this morning, with an option of cornflakes. We grabbed our food and went to sit down at a table.

"Oh my goodness, there he is." I said, and quickly let my brown hair flow into my face, hiding it. I didn't want to ever see him again.

"Where?" asked Olivia.

"Over there, in front of us about two tables towards the door." I tried to explain.

"Oh, um, just don't make eye contact." she tried to suggest.

"Been doing that, there Livvi." I explained, a little annoyed.

I glanced up once, despite having Olivia say that to me, and tried to make sure he wasn't looking at me. Sure enough, his stare was only for me, his eyes locked on my head as I turned my head back down and tried to keep eating.

We walked quickly pass the doors and headed for the stage. Once we were there, we started stretching and doing different warmups that would help us for today's challenge.

We watched as people filled the stage, one by one. There looked to be only about forty people actually here, and this was the final round, so they needed to cut thirty people by the end of the day.

"Oh my goodness, Livvi, they need to cut thirty people. Thats so much of us," I said, and I could feel my face turning into an expression of worry.

"Yeah, that is alot." she said, and looked around.

"We're going to do fine, they're going to remember us." she said.

Then the judges came into the room. Lyra, Trent, and Kelsey filed in and sat in their spots at the judging table.

"Today your challenge will be contemporary." said Lyra once we were quiet. My heart did a cartwheel. yay! I mouthed to Olivia, as she returned it with a smile.

"You will be put into different groups, so please pay attention." said Kelsey.

I listened as one by one names were called and people started walking, or dancing off the stage. Then my name was called along with nine other people, just like before, and we walked out and headed to our room. There were only two other people that I recognised from my original group.

"Hey, guys." we heard as we entered the room.

It was Kyle, my previous choreograpger. I was happy to see him, and happy to see that he got into the swing of things right away.

Four hours later, it was lunch time, then time for preformances.

I met Olivia for lunch and then we headed out onto the stage.

My group was the first one up, and for once I was extremely happy, because I knew that this was something I could do extremely well.

I took my place next to the middle of the stage, so that they could see me. I felt the lights upon my face. The world just melted away, I couldn't see people in the back, I could only see the judges, and light. Then the music started flowing into my opened heart. I caressed the dance. I moved swiftly and carefully. My lines were perfect.

I felt my routine was spot-on. The music stopped and my heart closed, preparing itself to what I was about to hear.

The judges called up the first person, and told them that it wasn't enough, and to come back. Then the next person, who had made it through by a hairline. Then they called me up.

"How are you feeling?" asked Kelsey.

"Good, really good." I said, and gave them a big smile.

"You aced that routine." said Trent. "We should have had Kyle dancing up there with you so we could compare you to him." and he laughed, so i smiled.

"The lines you made, the raw emotion that was portrayed on the stage, I...I don't think we've seen that very often." said Lyra. "You're definatly moving on, and you're one of my faveourites." she smiled.

I jumped up and down, then exited the stage - still bouncing - to find Olivia. She started bouncing with me, and then we calmed ourselves down to wait for her turn to take the floor.

It was a long wait, but we got to watch the other preformances, which was really a learning experience, what could I have done better?

Then it was Olivia's turn to take the stage by storm. She hugged me, I wished her good luck, and from the moment she stepped onto the stage, i could tell she was nervous.

Her music started and she was a bit shakey, but she found her comfort zone near the middle and it was all good from there.

The judges told her that she was going to be moving on, and she ran back to me.

"I did it! Oh my goodness, i was shaking!" she said.

"You did awesome!" I said, "Let's go back to the room, I want to email Nathan."

We made our way back to the room, smiling and giggling, happy to still be in the competition.

I opened my laptop and opened my email. I started to type:

Nathan,
Things are going great here. No, better then great, ammmmazing! Olivia and I just made it through the third round! After this we need to be judged to see if we made the top ten or not. One of the judges said I was one of her faveourites, isn't that amazing!
I'm so exicted because I think me and Olivia are going to make it!
Well, how's life back home? How's school?
Talk to you veeeeeeeeeeery soon, love you!
Juliette <3

I sent the message. After that, we hung around the room, seeing as the next judging wasn't until tomorrow.

Then Olivia had an amazing idea. She suggested that we should take a bus to go see the sights.

Yes, it was going to be a good day.
