Insecure
Destiny smiled as she watched Anna and Hannah both take off running down the hallways of the hospital. The girls were so excited to see their dad; she just wished he would wake up so they'd have something to look forward to. She walked down the hall way sort of slowly, hoping to catch the view of her new boyfriend. She smiled even wider thinking about Carlisle. He made her feel youthful, like she was a teenager again; which was something she desperately missed.
She walked into her brother's room, and over to his bed, frowning slightly when she noticed no change in him. Hannah pouted, "Daddy's still sleeping." She stated, walking over and climbing on top of the waiting chair. Anna looked down at her father and frowned. Destiny walked over and ran her hands over her brother's arms. His bruises were almost gone now, and his body was slowly starting to look better.
The door opened to the door, and Destiny turned around hearing foot prints. She was hoping for Carlisle, but instead an attractive looking brunette nurse walked in. She had curves to kill; and her face was almost as attractive as Rosalie's. Destiny swallowed hard when she realized this woman worked around Carlisle every day. She couldn't help but to look at her hand. She frowned, when she didn't see a ring.
She realized what she was doing and laughed. She was being insecure about their relationship; and it had just started. She bit down on her bottom lip as the nurse checked her brother's machines, and then changed one of the bags hooked to his IV. She tried to stop thinking about her past, but she couldn't.
Her last relationship had turned out horrible. Her ex boyfriend Jason, had promised her the world; only to bring her world crumbling down in the end. Because of him, she ended up without an apartment, without a car, and a broken heart. He took everything; because he had always insisted things be in his name. She allowed this; since she thought she would one day marry him.
She knew she shouldn't compare Carlisle to scum like Jason; but she just didn't understand why an amazing guy like him would be interested in her. What did she have to offer him? She was just a school teacher. That was really the only thing going for her at the moment.
She was brought out of her thoughts by a cold hand being placed on her shoulder. She looked up and smiled when she saw Carlisle's perfect face looking down at her. He squeezed her shoulder, and then looked at Kevin.
"Any improvements?" Destiny ask.
He just shook his head. She sighed, and ran her fingers through her blond hair.
"So, you're dating my aunt. . ." Anna said, breaking the silence.
Destiny had broke the news to Anna just this morning about her relationship with Carlisle. She didn't seem to take it good or bad. She seemed to be neutral on the topic. Her boyfriend, Embry Call didn't like Carlisle; but Anna tried to keep an open mind. She told Destiny that as long as she was happy, then she was fine with whoever she wanted to date.
"Yes." Carlisle spoke, confident and smooth.
"If you break her heart, I might have to hospitalize you, Doc." Anna said.
Destiny's eyes went wide, and Carlisle chuckled. "I don't plan on breaking her heart." He said, looking down into Destiny's wide orbs. She half smiled and then adverted her attention back to her brother.
"What are you doing this afternoon?" Carlisle ask.
"Babysitting." Destiny said.
Carlisle nodded his head.
"I could cancel my date with Embry. . ." Anna said.
"No, no. You've had plans for days now." Destiny said.
"What about Alice and Rosalie? I'm sure they wouldn't mind watching her."
"I don't know. . ." Destiny said, unsure of leaving Hannah with anyone.
"We'll be home before she goes to sleep." He promised.
She sighed, "I'll think about it."
"Go Aunt Des!" Anna said.
Destiny sighed, "Fine. . . But only if Alice and Rosalie are okay with it." She said.
Carlisle grinned, "I'll go phone them right away."
Destiny and the girls stayed by Kevin's side for a couple of hours. When they were leaving the room, Carlisle stopped her and told her that Alice and Rosalie were both excited to baby sit. She smiled, "Where are we going?" She questioned.
"I figured we might go catch a movie, and then possibly take a stroll through the park." He said.
She smiled, "What time?" She ask.
"Around six." He said.
She nodded her head, and then she and the girls left. She couldn't help but to feel excited about her date with Carlisle. Not only was it their second date, but their first date as a couple. She couldn't wait to spend some time with him. There was still so many things she didn't know about him. So many questions she wanted to ask him.
When she arrived home, she fixed some food for herself and the girls, and then she walked up the stairs and started getting ready for her date with Carlisle. She didn't know why but every time she thought of her, her heart started beating faster, and her stomach began doing flip flops.
But deep down; she felt like he was hiding something. There was something he wasn't telling her, and before she got too involved with him; she needed to know what that something was.
