Christian - My heart for sweet Juliet

Christian's POV.

We moved closer to each other, I could feel his warm quick breaths against my neck. I could feel something between us, a gentle tingling sensation crept up my spine and made me quiver. He looked up at me and then back at the page quickly, his eyes reading through the next few lines. He had a certain presence about him on stage which was kind of amazing because I was now forgetting my lines, which never happened to me. I skimmed the book for my lines but found my eyes leaving the page as soon as they hit them to meet his gentle gaze. He was blushing so cutely, and his soft blond hair hung lightly over the top of his eyes made them even more amazing to look at. He opened his mouth to speak but then turned back to the book, it looked like he was having trouble with his lines to. So I spoke, still smiling.

"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief,
That thou her maid art far more fair than she:
Be not her maid, since she is envious;
Her vestal livery is but sick and green
And none but fools do wear it; cast it off.
It is my lady, O, it is my love!
O, that she knew she were!
She speaks yet she says nothing: what of that?
Her eye discourses; I will answer it.
I am too bold, 'tis not to me she speaks:
Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven,
Having some business, do entreat her eyes
To twinkle in their spheres till they return.
What if her eyes were there, they in her head?
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars,
As daylight doth a lamp; her eyes in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.
See, how she leans her cheek upon her hand!
O, that I were a glove upon that hand,
That I might touch that cheek!"

The room had quited down, in fact I could feel their gaze on me, and his. I turned to the class and grinned at Collins. He always found it amazing the way I took command of the stage, it seemed to be a gift of mine. For the moment I forgot that the class was there when I turned to look at Shaun he grinned with wide eyes. I tried to whisper to him that it was okay if he didn't want say his lines but he opened his mouth and spoke his line.

"Ay me!" he said taking a step back from me out of the light.

I smiled and took a step toward him.

"He speaks:
O, speak again, bright angel! for thou art
As glorious to this night, being o'er my head
As is a winged messenger of heaven
Unto the white-upturned wondering eyes
Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him
When he bestrides the lazy-pacing clouds
And sails upon the bosom of the air."
Shaun, stepped forward toward the stage and away from me.
"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

I half stepped behind him and looked over his shoulder, he had the book closed. Did he know it or did he just remember it when he looked at the page. I was caught in deep thought for a moment before Collins cleared his throat. I had been staring at Shaun.

"Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?"

"'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Christian..."

He stopped, half of the class giggled, but I couldn't see why. He was amazing, he read the line perfectly... oh. His face was bright red and before I knew it he jumped of the tiny stage at the front of the class and dashed out the door. I hesitated for a second and then ran after him. It was then I got to the door that I ran right into a girl. I fell back onto my butt and the girls awed at me. The girl I ran into had used the door frame a support so she wouldn't fall down. She smiled at me rubbing her head with one hand and reaching out to help me up with the other.

"You okay?" she smiled still rubbing.

Mr. Collins helped me up and took the girls hand, "Lahna."
