Chapter 8 It's Freaky but I Like it
Walking in to the room where Mikey sat Jaslene looked around and saw a unfamiliar face, she didnt understand what was happening all she knew was that she would be going to a new home and that her Mummy and Daddy would be watching over her from heaven.
Mikey stood up when he saw Jaslene walk in, seeing her for the first time in the flesh he could tell she was the child of Sienna, the resemblance was remarkable.
As Jaslene had walked in with Francine she continued to stare at Mikey trying to work out who he was, Mikey smiled warmly but waited for Francine to introduce jaslene before he spoke as he didnt want to scare her.
“Jaslene this is Michael...remember I was telling you about him and how your going to stay with Michael for a while?”
Jaslene nodded to scared to say anything
“Michael this is Jaslene...before we got here she was a chatter box but she seems to be shy right now”
Mikey bent down so he was at Jaslene’s height and spoke to her “Hey Jaslene...I’m Michael but you can call me Mikey...Your going to be staying with me for a while, wont that be fun?”
Jaslene continued to stare at Mikey and then decided to poke her tongue at him which caught Mikey by surprise but made him laugh, A small smile spread across Jaslene’s face “So do I get a hello” Mikey said with a laugh
“Hi” Jaslene whispered
After talking some more to Francine, Mikey was glad when Jaslene had started to open up a little more and started to babble about all different things from liking the wiggles to her favourite colour being pink.
Finally it was time to go, Francine had explained to Mikey that she would be in touch with him shortly and that while he was on tour he would need to give weekly updates on how Jaslene was going, Francine also advised that she would monitor Jaslene’s living arrangements back in Jersey but at the same time telling MIkey she would fully support him in looking after Jaslene.
Mikey was taken with Jaslene along with her suit case of clothing and a box of toys to the airport, once arriving there Francine said her goodbyes and advised that she would shortly be in contact with Mikey to see how everything was going.
Once Francine said goodbye to Jaslene she started to cry, not big tears but they slowly dropped from her tired eyes. Grabbing Jaslene’s hand he walked the little girl to where they needed to check in for the flight back to New Jersey, Mikey wasn’t scared about having Jaslene in care he was just scared that he wouldn’t do it right
Finally checking in and being able to do what they wanted before it was time to check in for the flight, Mikey spoke to jaslene who was being very quiet “Jaslene are you hungry” he asked
Jaslene looked up and whispered “Yes”
“It’s ok you don’t have to be scared of me?” Mikey replied
“I’m not” Jaslene said defiantly
Mikey couldn’t help but laugh at her in a good way, “What would you like to eat…macca’s?”
Jaslene stopped dead in her tracks and stood there with her arms crossed “Eww that’s yucky…my Mummy always cooked my lunch”
Mikey didn’t know what to say he wasn’t expecting that so rather he took Jaslene to one of the airport café’s where they made her a sandwich, Sitting down at a table jaslene ate her food quietly while Mikey watched her.
After some time it was time to board the flight, sitting in first class Mikey sat down and buckled Jaslene in besides him who was getting tired from such a long morning
“Mikey am I going to my new home now?” Jaslene asked
“Yeh sweetie we are”
“Where is it?”
“We are going to a place called New Jersey, have you heard of it?”
Jaslene shook her head “Well it’s near New York City, I’m sure you know that name”
Jaslene nodded enthusiastically. During the Flight Jaslene slept while Mikey couldn’t help but watch, every now and then the hostess would walk over and ask if Mikey needed anything but this time she said more “Aww your daughter is beautiful”
Mikey looked and smile “Ahh she’s not my daughter” He stammered
“Oh I’m sorry...I just thought” she replied
“It’s ok...”
The hostess gave him a puzzled look and walked off, Finally arriving in Newark Jaslene had woken up
“Hey Jaslene...we are here, soon we will be at your new home”
“Do I get my own room?” Jaslene asked
“Yes you do and I live with my Parents but I’ll explain that when we get there cause I have a surprise”
Jaslene squealed with delight.
Donna had made sure the house was clean and child proof, she was looking forward to finally meeting Jaslene, while Mikey had been away Donna and Don had been sure to pop by Phillips the situation and that Mikey had decided to take temporary custody of Jaslene. Phillip hid it well but deep inside he was looking forward to meeting his biological granddaughter.
Phillip was at the Way residence waiting eagerly for the impending arrival of Jaslene, from what he had seen of her she was a splitting image of Sienna and that you could tell that Sienna was certainly her mother.
Phillip started to reminisce about the past when he had first met Jaslene
FLASHBACK
“Honey one more push” Phillip said while he watched his daughter give birth
“Daddy I cant...it hurts” Sienna replied squeezing her father’s hand
After a quick push Sienna had given birth, she would finally be able to meet the little person she had carried for the last nine months, she could hear the crying of a baby trying to look around she couldn’t see anything
“Daddy what’s going on”
Before Phillip could answer the doctor bought over the baby “Congratulations Sienna you have a healthy little girl”
Sienna smiled as the baby was placed in her arms “Daddy OMG she’s beautiful...If I could have named her it would have been Holly after Momma’s middle name”
Phillip looked at his granddaughter and smiled, after Sienna had held her where Phillip had taken a couple of photo’s, Phillip finally held the baby as tears fell from his happy eyes.
He knew that Sienna was doing the right thing but deep down he was wishing he could take the little girl home.
END OF FLASHBACK
Mikey had arrived at his house holding Jaslene by the hand as they walked up the front path way, mikey truly realised this was it he was now becoming a parent, Phillip on the other hand had heard the car pull up and was waiting in anticipation of meeting Jaslene who was now four years old.
The door opened.....
Mikey stood up when he saw Jaslene walk in, seeing her for the first time in the flesh he could tell she was the child of Sienna, the resemblance was remarkable.
