Chapter 19
Rosalie turned to me and shrugged
“I saw him go upstairs a couple of minutes ago” I raised a brow and Rosalie sighed, turning towards me she clasped her hands in her lap and said “Jasper is worried”
“about what?” I asked and Rosalie frowned
“he is worried that something could happen to you with you hanging out with us and it probably scared the hell out of him when you went near Bella, he knows newborns honey and he knows how blood thirsty they are so he had every right to be scared” I nodded and stood up
“thanks Rosalie” she nodded and I turned around and headed upstairs to Jasper’s study.
Getting to the top of the stairs I padded down to Jasper’s door and knocked lightly, no sound came so I just pushed the door open.
Went I entered the room I looked to see Jasper sat in his desk chair turned towards the windows as he just stared out over at the scenery, I knew he knew I was there so I just walked over to him and sat down in his lap.
Looking up into his face I asked softly
“what’s going on Jasper?” Jasper sighed and gave the view one last look before he looked down into my eyes, he wrapped his hands around my waist and said
“do you know how much danger you were just in?” I sighed and reached up and ran a hand through his hair
“I know Jasper, I know that she could have killed me there and then but she didn’t” Jasper groaned
“the fact is though that she could of! She was a danger and because of us you’ve gotten used to it and put yourself in a deliberately dangerous position” I pursed my lips in thought of his words before I said
“hang on there, I did put myself in a dangerous situation but then I knew that Bella wouldn’t do anything to me, I knew that you were there to save me so how could I be in any danger?” Jasper stared at me a moment before he chuckled
“that’s it darlin’ cater to my ego” I laughed and poked him
“as if I could make it any bigger” Jasper play glared at me and I giggled but then he got serious again
“you can’t be in danger, I don’t want you in danger and I know that as long as you’re with me you will be” I gasped in shock and bringing my hands up I took his face between them and stared into his eyes hard as I said
“don’t you dare say that to me! After everything we’ve been through so far you want to get rid of me?” I said hurt and Jasper immediately lifted a hand and took one of mine in his and brought to his mouth to kiss before placing them both over his non beating heart
“there is no way I want you gone from my life in fact I want you in it forever but I just don’t want you to get hurt” I sighed
“Jasper no matter what I’m going to get hurt be it here or in a country far from here, I will get hurt” I smirked then “I just attract weirdo’s like you” Jasper laughed before he pulled me towards him and hugged me close
“what would I ever do without you darlin’ I couldn’t let go of you if I tried and I damn myself for it”
“well if you’re damned then so am I because you can’t love the damned without becoming so yourself” Jasper and I just sat there for a while holding each other.
After a while I pulled back and asked
“so are we going back down then?” Jasper nodded but said
“after I ask you some things” I nodded and he started “ok so do you want to be with me?” I smiled
“of course I do” he nodded and asked
“so you want to be turned then?” I thought about that one
“it’s not really wanting to be turned because the whole vampire thing is kinda scary but if it means being with you for the rest of eternity then I am fine with it” Jasper looked deep into my eyes and then asked his final question
“When?” I raised a brow in question before I got it
“oh you mean when do I want to be turned?” Jasper nodded and I shrugged “I don’t know I mean it would be good to look more your age and well I would like some life experiences first like graduation, I wanna walk out in the sun to receive my certificate, do you know what I mean?” Jasper smiled softly before he kissed my cheek
“yeah Evie I know what you mean” I nodded and we both got up and rejoined the party downstairs, both content in the knowledge that we would be together.
