This Night, Walk The Dead

The Other Today?

"I wish I could start today again." I said aloud, rubbing my eyes.
"You already have once."
I looked up.
There was a very tall, very thin, very pale, man, in a black pin-striped suit, with black hair that looked purple.
I'd never seen him before, but I knew him.
"R-Rayne?"
"Biiiiiiingo. So didn't you like starting the day again?" he smirked
I stared up at him, pretending my eyes were red rimmed and bloodshot on purpose.
"I'm fine"
He raised an eyebrow. "Would you rather go back to the other today?"
"The other today?"
"YES." He sighed impatiently. "The today that we went through already, the today where you were walking around the old industrial estate, wishing that you were somebody else, somewhere else, the today where you saw a girl, 19 years of age, as it were, fall out of a moving car, the toda-"
"Nineteen? Evie's nineteen?"
"Do you want to stay here, sitting and crying in the remnants of your grandfather, who was a great man, I must say, or would you like to go back to sitting on that bench?" he looked down at me, pushing his hair back into it's spiked style.
I dug my hands into the ashes.
"Come on." He put out a hand.
I reached up and grabbed it.
And everything went black.
Again.
