Forever Broken Nostalgic Mannequins

Skylar has been taking care of herself since she was twelve while her mother was off getting wasted. She always took the insults and beatings thrown at her without protest. It was all she knew. She never knew what it was like to be loved, or have a family. Her mother resented her and her father left before she was born. Her only escape from the hell that she lived in, was music. With music, she could drown out the world, she was free of everything. She played the guitar as well as sang (anything from soft tunes to screamo) Skylar and her four friends decide to start a band. She looks forward to band practice, it being the only good thing in her life. What will happen when there band might be more than just a garage passtime. Will they make it in the music world. What about schooling, they are seniors in highschool? Can Skylar cope with her haunting past as well as the stressful present? Will the music business tear them apart or bring them closer? Are they really good enough?
