Let Me Perfect It

That's your news?

Chloe's Point of View

"Do you think that got the point across?" Sophie asked in a sing-song voice, a grin spread across her face. The show was over and we were all piled back onto our bus, heading towards the destination of our last show.

"Absolutely," Josie laughed. "Perfect lead-in to an awesome last show."

"I seriously can't believe we've got one show left." I sighed. "What are we going to do when we go back home?"

"Enjoy normal beds, and showers, and quiet?" Sophie laughed.

I nodded in agreement, but the smile I forced didn't quite make it to my eyes. In three months on the road, it felt like everything had changed. Travis wasn't a part of my life - at least; I was going to do everything in my power to keep him away from me.

And then there was Brendon. I couldn't believe how quickly he'd become a part of my life. I could hardly bear the weight of the idea that I'd be away from him and returning home, all within the next few days.

"What's on your mind, Chloe?" Sophie asked, leaning back so her head was resting on my lap. "You look worried."

"Just... thinking," I sighed. It was too much to explain right now and I didn't want to burden my best friend with my relationship troubles when she just ended her own. "It's not a big deal."

"You guys," Molly said, pulling Sophie from the thought. "We're almost done with our first full tour. With big-name bands. Holy shit."

Before we expected it, the bus pulled to a stop. I stood quickly and ran to the window. "Did any of you realize we were going to a hotel for the night?" I asked, turning around.

No one responded for a moment until Sophie spoke up- "That means we're going to party!" She grinned.

I couldn't help but laugh at how cheesy Sophie's announcement was. Her attitude had definitely shifted over the last few days, since everything with William went to absolute hell. She went from being angry to completely ignoring his existence. She refused to let herself be sad about anything - she was hurt, but made herself stronger than that pain.

Sophie was so strong through everything; over and over again I just felt weak. I should be happy now - everything on tour has gone well, despite a few major setbacks. But all I could think about was that I'd be going back home, all the way across the country from Brendon.

Before long, we all made it into the hotel. One Last Request was split into two rooms. I shared a room for the night with Sophie and Angie, who was currently showering. "What is going on, Chloe? You aren't yourself."

I knew I wasn't. Instead of doing anything to get ready to hang out with people or anything, I was laying on my stomach on one of the beds, my feet dangling off the end. I sighed and looked away from my friend, my cheek resting against the blankets. "It's nothing."

"Stop being so... distant!" Sophie laughed. "I know when there's something wrong, Chloe. This is definitely not nothing."

A sigh escaped my lips. I felt like deflating. "It's Brendon," I finally admitted, quietly. Sophie didn't respond for a few moments, and I heard Angie exit the bathroom.

"Did he do something?" Sophie snapped, defensive almost instantly.

"Of course he didn't, Sophie," Angie laughed, and I felt the bed dip down slightly as she sat on the edge.

"He didn't," I concurred. "I'm just... not ready for this to end. I'll miss him," I sighed. I felt my voice cracking along with the rest of me. Brendon had been there through so much for me over the last few months. Going back home felt like I was going to go back in time; like nothing he'd done would matter, and I wasn't ready for that to happen. "I... I love him," I sighed, biting my lip.

"Well, do I have some good news for you!" Sophie grinned.

My eyebrows furrowed together, and Angie held the same expression. I know she'd been getting closer to Spencer over the last few weeks; how did she feel about leaving?

"I found a five-bedroom house, with decent rent," Sophie started, pausing for a moment.

My eyes widened. "You.. what? Where?"

"It's sorta... kinda.. in Vegas?"

I couldn't respond.

"And I put a few month's rent in advance, from my savings," She continued. I couldn't bring myself to speak. "So we can go back home and move there within a month."

"Holy shit!" Angie shouted, standing up from the bed. She ran out of the room quickly, returning a few seconds later with Molly and Josie in tow.

"Are you serious?" Molly asked instantly. I knew Angie must have told her, in her frantic, excited voice, as soon as she got into the room.

Josie sat down on the bed next to me. "Will we be able to afford it? Why didn't you tell us earlier, Sophie!? This is insane!"

"We will be able to afford it," Sophie grinned. "Don't worry. We can find jobs when we get out there, too. It is insane, but I think it'll be perfect."

I stood from the bed now, and tackled Sophie into a giant hug. "You're the best!" I practically yelled, before bounding out of the room and down the hallway. I wasn't sure which room Brendon currently inhabited, but there weren't many that any of the other bands were taking up.

One room I ran past had an open door, and after I was a few feet past I heard a familiar voice. "Chloe?" Brendon shouted down the hallway, stopping me in my tracks.

There was a smile on my face that I couldn't hide even if I tried. I jogged back down the hall and met him with a hug and long kiss. "I have exciting news," I said, short on breath from that short run.

His eyebrows knit together but he was quiet, waiting for me to continue. It took me a moment. I took in all of his features; his strong jaw, dark brown eyes that seemed to match his hair and stubble, the few inches of height he had over me, everything.

"I'm in love with you, Brendon Urie," I said, unable to restrain the statement.

"I love you too, Chloe," He responded, pulling me close to him. Our foreheads touched gently. "That's your news?" He added with a laugh, exposing straight white teeth.

I couldn't help but smile. "Part of it," I laughed. "The rest may be even better,"

"I don't know how you could top that," He laughed, pulling me into another kiss.

"Well, Sophie just informed me that we're all moving to Vegas, so if you don't think it's that big of a deal, I can just go back to my room..." I teased.

"Holy shit," Brendon said, grinning widely. "We need to celebrate."
