A Little Piece of Heaven

Chapter Twelve

It was around 10 o’clock in the morning, and I was sitting in a little coffee shop near the beach. I had decided to needed to get out of the house for a little while, for obvious reasons. *cough* Melle and Zacky *cough* So here I was drinking a chai latte and flipping through some trashy magazine. I was reading yet another story on Brad and Angelina, when I was interrupted.

“Hello Kassandra,” someone greeted beside me. I looked up and saw Jamie.

“Oh hey Jamie,” I smiled, “What brings you here?”

“I was here meeting with some of my friends,” Jamie explained, “One of them just moved home from Russia.”

“Oh really? That’s awesome,” I replied, “How long was she there for?”

“Years!” Jamie laughed, “I’ve really missed her. Hey, did you want to meet them?”

“That’d be great,” I answered, “I’m always up for new friends.”

“Great!” Jamie exclaimed excitedly, and brought me outside the coffee shop. Two women were standing outside talking to each other, and turned once they saw Jamie and me walking over to them.

One of them had red hair and snake bites. She looked like a very quiet girl, from what I could tell. The other had long black hair with a bright red side fringe. Both were average height and slim. I could just tell that we were going to get along just fine.

“Hey Lya, Aj! I have someone I want you to meet!” Jam announced as we neared them, “This is my old friend Kassandra.”

“Hi there!” I greeted smiling.

“Hey! I’m Amy Jean, but please feel free to call me Aj,” the girl with the red hair and snake-bites introduced shyly.

“And I’m Anastasiya, but just call me Lya,” the one with the long black hair greeted, with a very heavy Russian accent.

An hour later, we were all talking like we’d known each other for years. I’d known Jamie for years, and she had great taste in friends. Lya was talkative and I could tell she was smart. Also, I loved her Russian accent and hearing about her country and family. Aj was really quiet, but when she spoke she was always random, but it made me laugh every time. Melle just has to meet these girls.

Just then, I got a txt. I pulled out my phone and opened it. It was from Melle.

Hey, there’s a party at Matt’s tonight. He said bring friends ;)

A party, ay? This was the best opportunity to welcome the girls back to Huntington Beach. So, I asked them what they were up to tonight, and guess what? They had absolutely nothing planned! Nothing. This is going to be great!
