A Boarding School. . . For Vampires!?!

He smiled and walked out of the room. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and walked to the door. I know I didn’t keep my promise but he shouldn’t get too mad. I saw Vance talking to a girl. He was giving her a hug! My legs became wobbly. The next thing I knew I was on the floor-again. When my eyes opened Vance was by my side with the girl.
“You gotta stop fainting on me.”
“Sorry.”
“Hey, I’m Edeline.” The girl said. She was beautiful. Perfect hair. Perfect smile. Perfect face.
“Hey?”
“You feeling better?” she asked me “The last three weeks Vance wasn’t in our room.”
“OUR?”
“Yeah.” Vance said.
“I thought you liked me.” I muttered.
“I do.” He answered
“But you live with her.”
“So?”
“Do you love her?”
“Yes.” He said.
“What?!?” I was shocked. “How long has it been?”
“What do you mean?”
‘Vance, you know what I mean.”
“Not really, no.”
“How long have you guys been living together!” I said getting madder and madder.
“My whole life.”
“What!?!”
“I have to.”
“Err.. No you don’t!”
“Yes I do!”
“NO you don’t! I thought you liked me! But you choose her!?”
“What? She is my sister!”
“What?”
“She is my sister!”
“Oh,”
“Did you think we were-”
“Yes!”
“EW!”
“Vance!” Edeline yelled. “Am I really that bad?”
“I don’t even want to answer that!”
“Oh, I see the resemblance now.”
“We’re twins. I am older by 1 minute.” Vance said.
“Wow.”
“Yeah; but I am better looking.” Edeline said. Vance rolled his eyes.
“Now that we got that out of our way, You need to stay in bed.”
“But I don’t want to!” I wined.
“But you have to.”
“You can’t make me.”
“Oh yes he can,” Edeline said “he is the strongest and fastest in our family. Once, he beat out James.”
“Who is James?”
“Our oldest brother.”
“How many siblings do you have?”
“Four.” Vance said
“Gesh!”
“Yeah, so I would stay in bed if I were you.” Edeline repeated.
“Alright, Hey, Don’t you have to go to class?”
“Nah, its free period anyway.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Oh Vance!” a girl said. We all turned to face her. She was a blonde.
“Hey Jamie.” He answered dully.
“Jamie Wayne is obsessed with Vance.” Edeline explained “No, she is crazy she follows him everywhere.”
“Jesh.” I said
Vance got up and went to talk to Jamie.
“Will you please stop following me?”
“Come on! I know you like it.” She said
“Uumm..No I don’t.”
“Yes you do!”
“I gotta go.”
“Bye hottie!” he shut the door before she could say anything else. I started to laugh when Vance sat on the edge of my bed.
“Oh my gosh! I bet every girl wants to be with you.”
“You couldn’t believe it” Edeline said. “Every guy wants to be with me too.” She batted her eyelashes.
“Edeline, could you go do your nails or something?”
“Alright but I’ll be back. Don’t you worry.”
“We all know.” Vance says.
“Later Natalie, it was nice to meet you.” She smiled her perfect white teeth.
“Bye you too.” When she walked out Vance sat where Edeline was sitting. Right by me.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Nothing. I am glad you are awake.”
“Me too.” I said. I smiled.
“Got any question about the vampire thing?”
“uh, don’t remind me.”
“what do you mean? You’re the only human, it is kind of weird for all of us too but, come on, do you or not?
“Yes. Lots.”
“Alright.”
“First. Do you eat?”
“Yes and No. If we want to appear human we do eat but it’s pointless because it has no taste.”
“Cool. Do you sleep?”
“No.”
“Then why do you have beds?”
“We don’t. You do.”
“I get it. Do you drink blood?”
“Yes.”
“Human?”
“Sometimes.” I scooted back against the headboard.
“Don’t worry I won’t suck your blood.”
“Really?”
“Yes your smell is amazing, but I can hold my cravings.”
“Thank goodness.”
“Yeah, any more questions?”
“Yes, One more. Does each vampire in your family have a power?”
“Yes. I can read minds. Edeline can tell the future. Gable can move things without touching them. Ebrel, my mom can change the weather, and James is just really strong.”
“Wow. That’s a mouth full.”
“Yeah.”
“So you an read my mind?”
“Yes.”
Can you read it now? I thought.
“Yes, I can read it now.”

“No she isn’t.” I laughed.
Do you love me?
“I don’t feel like answering that.”
“Fine.”
That afternoon I just kept asking question about Vance’s life and he would give one-word answers like “yes” “No” “Maybe”. Before I knew it, it was time for bed.
“Now get some sleep.”
“Okay vampire.” I got under the blankets. “Are you going to leave?”
“Do you want me to?”
“No!”
“Okay.” He lay by me and I drifted off the sleep thinking of Vance. All I knew was that I was in love with Vance Spring.
